Promotion: INSPADES (UK) - New Single / By Stewart King
May 31, 2014
INSPADES was formed back in 2010 as a four-piece with founder members Stewart King (vocals & guitar) and P.G. Branton (Drums, vocals), joined by bassist Jim Quinn and guitarist Adam Brady. The sound of the band was very different back then, with more indie and classic rock influences at the fore. Under this line up, a four track self-titled EP was released which hinted at the heavier direction the band would eventually take. Upon losing guitarist Adam Brady, the band continued as a power trio but it soon became clear that there were conflicting musical directions competing within the band. INSPADES went through a period of uncertainty following the exit of bassist Jim Quinn, when his replacement Tom 'Clouse' Leggott joined, soon followed by Seph Filth on rhythm guitar. The next year saw the band take a much darker, heavier direction, along with a hectic touring schedule. During this time, the band won a free recording session in a local battle of the bands competition and used this to record their next single, "DNR" (Do not resuscitate).
Shortly after the release of the single, the band was offered a recording contract with a small independent record label. This opportunity forced each member of the band to closely examine their motivations and Seph Filth made the decision to leave the band to pursue other interests. The band made the decision not to sign with the label and instead closed ranks, remaining in the rehearsal room for the next few months auditioning a series of guitarists. This was a frustrating time for Stewart, Tom and P.G. and it soon became apparent that they were better off remaining as a three-piece where the band's chemistry and song-writing process would be preserved.
Since then, INSPADES have been focused on writing a new set of explosive material and recently returned to the live circuit, playing to a packed out Fibbers, York supporting Metal legends RSJ. The show felt like a home coming to the band with them finally having the opportunity to play to the right kind of crowd, and receiving a warm welcome in the process. That brings us to present day where the band have just recorded their new single "Deadlines" at Innersound Studios, who've worked with the likes of ASKING ALEXANDRIA, THE FAMILY RUIN and DEAF HAVANA. The band is extremely pleased with the single and cannot wait to share it with the world on 4[sup]th[/sup] July.
