Luxembourgish Extreme Progressive Metal band Mindpatrol announces their 4th album "Ikaria", a concept album set in a seemingly perfect future: thanks to an omnipresent mind monitoring mechanism, the city Ikaria is purged of all crime and vile intent, allowing its inhabitants to live a perfectly peaceful life at the cost of their freedom of thoughts. A young woman named Myra finds herself unaffected by this thought monitoring due to her inability to hear. As she seeks a way to prevent the people of Ikaria from further narrowing down their freedom, she quickly finds her hands covered in blood.

Mindpatrol don't shy away from using the entirety of their colour palette in order to capture the details of their story in their music. Being more fond of broken expectations than pigeon-hole thinking, they let their creativity flow wherever they see fit. One thing can be expected, though: Things are getting dark.

The story of "Ikaria" plays in parallel to the events of the Mindpatrol's 3rd album "Vulture City" and is yet again accompanied by a self-written German novel. "Ikaria" can thus be seen as the conclusion to a mammoth project spanning over two albums and two novels, which fuel each other when it comes to the details, but are perfectly fine to be listened to or read on their own.

"Ikaria" was mixed and mastered by the capable hands of Sebastian Levermann (Orden Ogan), allowing the music to wreak havoc in its bold wall-of-sound moments just like it enchants the listener in its more fragile, moody parts.
The artwork for "Ikaria" was created by Stéphane Pianon, who's been in charge of Mindpatrol's album art ever since the debut.
