It is scheduled to take place on 4, 5 and 6 of September in the city of La Plata, Argentina, the sixth edition of La Plata Prog, one of the most important festivals of classic progressive rock of South America. The event will happen in the auditorium of Centro Cultural Pasaje Dardo Rocha and will bring together a total of 12 bands: Ãœnder Linden, Akenathon, Alejandro Matos, Volvox, Zaedyus, Laquesis, Post Mortem and Baalbek, all from Argentina, besides Calle Santiago (Venezuela), Aisles (Chile), Tephiret (Chile) and, representing Brazil, Maestrick.
Currently formed by Fabio Caldeira (vocal/piano), Renato "Montanha" Somera (bass), Heitor Matos (drums) and Paulo Pacheco (guitar), Maestrick released in 2011 one of the most significative works of the contemporary brazilian heavy music, the album "Unpuzzle!" (Wikimetal Music). With references in artistic movements like surrealism and dialogs with several segments such as cinema, painting, literature, dance and performing arts, "Unpuzzle!" transcended the concept of "heavy metal album" and was considered, back then, a true "Musical Aquarelle".
The album was elected among the "Best Of The Year" in many voting held by Brazilian specialized magazines and sites. With the release of the album in Europe, United States and Asia in 2013 by Prog Power Records, the album also reached the international press and conquered the critics, receiving statements such as "Masterpiece" (Stormbringer - Germany), "Fascinating" (Metal Temple - Greece) and "Unique" (Lady Obscure - USA).
This is not the first time that Maestrick will represent Brazil on a foreign festival. Back in 2012 they were the only Brazilian band to play at ProgFest in Lima, Peru.
Fabián Alejandro Vera, representative of Colectivo Progresivo Platense, responsible for the production of La Plata Prog, says that is a honor to count with Maestrick on the event.
