Popular UK melodic metallers 'Imicus' return with a killer new single 'TheLibertine', out on now.
After a two year hiatus, Imicus return to the fold in sensational style witha brand new single entitled 'The Libertine'. Developing and solidifying asound that draws together hook laden choruses and engaging riffs withthoughtful dynamics, Imicus are back stronger than ever, and with a newalbum poised for release next year, there is nothing stopping the band thistime around.
Hailing from Luton, Imicus dropped their debut album 'Animal Factory' in2010 through Transcend Records. It picked up widespread critical acclaim
with Scuzz TV, BBC Radio 1, XFM and Totalrock, all of whom played tracksfrom the record; and the band were also asked by Metal Hammer to record aversion of 'You Don't Have To Be Old To Be Wise' for a Judas Priest coverCD, which was given away with one of their issues. The melodic metallersalso served their time on the road and relentlessly toured, playing with thelikes of Enter Shikari, Skindred, InMe, SiKth, Ill Nino, Panic Cell, Reuben,Breed 77, The Deathstars, Exit Ten, Devil Sold His Soul, Orange Goblin, andmany more; Imicus have also played a string of prominent festivals includingDownload, Bloodstock, Hammerfest, Hard Rock Hell and Bulldog Bash.
The original line up of Imicus disbanded in 2012 and the second incarnationof the band came to fruition at the start of 2013 when co-founder and
front-man Miller decided to continue and re-invent the band. The newlyreformed quintet have certainly delivered; the new material is a realstatement of intent and defines the progression in the band's writing andthe new attitude featured on the forthcoming album. Under the expertsupervision of Russ Russell, the new tracks showcase Imicus' signature hooksand choruses while still maintaining dense instrumentation and enticingatmospherics. Whilst the material has continued to develop and promises tolaunch the riff monsters into the consciousness of new audiences, the band'ssound is still both melodic and heavy and is sure to appease original fanswho revelled in their debut.
