New Orleans nativesGOATWHOREare hard at work on the follow-up to their most successful album to date,"Carving Out The Eyes Of God". Once the band wraps up recording withErik RutanatMana Recording Studiosin St. Petersburg, Florida, they will immediately hit the road for headlining shows starting in Tampa. From there, they will join theEXHUMEDtour starting on October 26 in Gallup, New Mexico. Support on the trek will come fromCEPHALIC CARNAGEandHAVOK.

He added, "Things are going great in the studio withRutan. He's a master and definitely brings out the best in us!"

GOATWHOREwas honored in the "Best Heavy Metal" category at theBig Easy Awards, which was held on April 25 at Harrah's in New Orleans, Louisiana. Also nominated for the award wereARSON ANTHEMandHAARP.GOATWHOREdrummerZack Simmonsand guitaristSammy Duetaccepted the gong.

TheBig Easy Awardsin 2010 recognize achievement in local music and theater from 2010.

"Carving Out The Eyes Of God"sold around 2,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release to enter The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 190. The album landed at No. 67 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
