GENUS ORDINIS DEI: New Symphonic Metal Band From Italy Debuts
March 4, 2016
Genus Ordinis Dei was established in 2011 from a circle of friends residing in the same town. Between 2011 and 2013, the band sculpted its musical identity, melding the new millennium metal with symphonic sonorities. At the start of 2013, their first self-produced album came out, "The Middle", heavily backed by an intensive run of live shows throughout Italy and Europe.
In 2014, thanks to their greatly received first album, they engaged with Mr Fabrizio Scotti, who has been working in the Italian music industry for many years. Together they started a project that opened up an opportunity to work with Mr. Marco "Maki" Coti Zelati of Lacuna Coil as producer. With this new heavy crew, Genus Ordinis Dei started the recording of their self-titled EP in February 2015, at the JDM Studio of Mr Jonas Macullo, mixed and mastered by Mr. Simone Mularoni at Domination Studio.
In late 2015 the band signed with the Danish label "Mighty Music" for a worldwide distribution of both the two works. First up is "The Middle", which has been released worldwide on January 22nd 2016, late this April will be released also the self-titled EP "Genus Ordinis Dei". The band is now ready to enter the studio in May, to record the second LP for a 2017 release.
