DOOMCULT: Returns with three new tracks making up the EP Ashes
October 7, 2018
Doomcult is a one-man band situated in the south of the Netherlands. Doomcult came alive with the recording of debut album End All Life, which was released by Morbid Syndicate in 2016 and which received many great reviews.
The album was recently remixed and digitally released by Loneravn Records.
Now, doomcult returns with the EP Ashes which will be released in October by Loneravn Records. The music of doomcult is inspired by the Peaceville three (Paradise Lost, Anathema and My Dying Bride), but also by many blackend bands, like Urfaust, Celtic Frost and Bathory. Lyrically, doomcult tries to stay away from the common themes of desperation and despair, building on stories about collusion and loss of self control, which offers the opportunity to add some more aggressive and misanthropic themes.
With respect to the vocals, doomcult doesn't use grunts, nor traditional clean vocals. In stead, doomcult uses harsh screaming and some growls. By doing so, doomcult intended to add some new thoughts to the genre and to create a more distinctive sound. The EP Ashes contains three songs (Sulphur, Ashes and Black Fire) which were mixed and mastered by Lorenzo Colucci (Satori Junk). These tracks will also end up on the album Life Must End which will be released at the end of 2018.
Tracklist:
1. Suffering
2. Sulphur
3. Black Fire
4. Charge;
5. Ashes
6. Inferno
7. Deathwish
