DODHEIMSGARD: Announce European Tour.
April 24, 2019
Black metal pioneers DØDHEIMSGARD, have confirmed they will be returning to the live arena with BÖLZER in late 2019.
The band is set to play a mixed set from all periods including songs never before performed on a stage.
Dødheimsgard's twisted style ranges from pure black metal to a more avant-garde approach fusing different genres along the way. Singer and guitarist, Vicotnik, tells us that the band has taken a one-year hiatus from live performances in order to sharpen their hunger and freshen their live performance "Nothing smells more like shit than a band just diddley-doodling through their repetitive routines. Sometimes you find yourself just becoming a striving self-indulgent parody in relation to what was once intended as your true ambition. Then you need to stop for a while, take a step back, reassess, demolish and re-configure. It all has to make sense on a deeper level, it cannot only be about external motivational factors, it has to be about the art itself, the love, the passion, and having the heart and the spirit to convey it transparently and truthfully"

Dødheimsgard was formed in 1994 by Vicotnik & Aldrahn. The early incarnation was that of a raw and melodic black metal band, with their debut album also featuring Fenriz of Darkthrone on bass, before the poisons of a more avantgarde & schizophrenic concoction started to take hold. They became one of the top bands and boundary-pushing visionaries of the mid-90's Norwegian Black Metal evolution and are widely hailed as masters of dark & psychotic psychedelia-tinged extremity. The band released their last studio album, A Umbra Omega, in 2015 on Peaceville, their first album release since 2007's 'Supervillain Outcast' opus, and undoubtedly marked the band's most challenging work to date; a twisted, technical, sprawling epic & an inverted outlook on existence from the depths of band mastermind/writer/producer Vicotnik.
