Dark Ascent are storming out of the gates of the Oklahoma City music scene with a dynamic, hard-hitting-yet-melodic take on the metal genre. While definitely influenced by the titans of American metal such as Metallica and Pantera, the band also draws modern inspiration from the likes of As I Lay Dying, Born Of Osiris, Disturbed and Tool.

The band is currently streaming two tracks from My Evil, and they can be heard here:

With a final lineup solidified in late 2011, the band released their debut album My Evil in February of 2012. Combining the rhythmic attack of Killswitch Engage, the lead guitar prowess of Trivium and a vocal approach akin to that of Bullet For My Valentine, Dark Ascent have firmly planted themselves at the head of the OKC metal scene, and are now well-equipped to venture beyond its confines.
