Texas trad rock band CRYPT TRIP is a progressive power trio that delivers energetic music which unites elements of blues, rock, and jazz. On the heels of its lauded debut, 'Rootstock', the San Marcos-based band will release its new LP, Haze County, on March 8 via Heavy Psych Sounds (BRANT BJORK, DUEL, NEBULA).

In advance of the record's release, CRYPT TRIP debuts the new song "Death After Life"; stream it now at this location (via New Noise):

Originally formed in Dallas in 2013, the first incarnation of CRYPT TRIP featured a heavy psychedelic sound that was reminiscent of the dark '70's underground scene. It wasn't long before guitarist/singer Ryan Lee and bassist Sam Bryant relocated to the Austin suburb of San Marcos where they met drummer Cameron Martin and began to solidify their sound. Taking influence from aged rock records, jazz methodology, and their cultural roots in the American South, the music of CRYPT TRIP presents you with a genuinely personal experience, conjuring up vintage James Gang with its sizzling guitar licks, beefy bass lines and remarkable sense of harmony.

In additional news, CRYPT TRIP has been added to the international lineup of the 2019 Roadburn Festival. For full details, visit this location:

Recorded at Cibolo Studios in San Antonio and mastered by Jerry Tubb (Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings), Haze County was captured using high quality analog equipment at every stage of production for the best possible "vintage" sound. Sonically and lyrically, the album explores the complexities of space and time and then brings you back down to the very Earth you're made of. Blending elements of hard rock, psychedelia and folk music, each track has something different to say. Loud Fender amps, a pounding rhythm section and Southern-style chicken pickin' deliver enticing grooves on some tracks, while dreamy guitars take you away on others. Staying true to their Texas tradition, the album features special guest Geoff Queen on pedal steel, adding an entirely different color to the tonal palette.

"Tectonic rock, psychedelic sandstorms, boogie rhythms: CRYPT TRIP could've been a mid-Eighties desert rock band from California's Mojave Desert á la KYUSS. Instead, the San Marcos trio originally from Dallas embodies heavy, cosmic, Lone Star post-blues like a ZZ Top for the Levitation set." - Austin Chronicle

"heavy, deep-dish, doom-psych delirium" - San Antonio Current
