CARMINE APPICE: Double Re-Release Announced
March 30, 2019
The name Carmine Appice stands not only for VANILLA FUDGE, CACTUS or BECK, Bogart & Appice but also for his work with OZZY OSBOURNE, Rod Stewart and many others. He not only influenced a large number of renowned drummers, but also helped bridge the gap between psychedelia and heavy metal.
Rockers, the solo debut of Carmine Appice, was recorded by star producer Richard Podolor in 1981. With Danny Johnson (among others ALCATRAZZ, ROD STEWART, ALICE COOPER, STEPPENWOLF) Appice could win a real top guitarist for his album.
V8 was recorded in 1977 at Cherokee Studios in Los Angeles. Besides Appice, Max Middleton (ex JEFF BECK GROUP), Verdins White (EARTH WIND AND FIRE), Mark Stein (VANILLA FUDGE), Dick Wagner (ex ALICE COOPER), Jimmy Haslip (YELLOW JACKETS) as well as Fernando Saunders and Benny Schultz were part of the group. The studio session was influenced by Jeff Beck's groundbreaking Blow By Blow album.
