The collaboration that has hatched between BEN CHISHOLM (CHELSEA WOLFE) and FELIX SKINNER (WRECK & REFERENCE) is an exploration of both character and theme. The duo's new video for the stirring track "I" rests that case. Directed by Karlos Rene Ayala, the video delves into America's police brutality epidemic by way of clips compiled from cop car dash cams, bystander videos, and police body cams.

"I grew up in Los Angeles, and I grew up there while the LA Riots were going on; my family and I would traverse the riot areas to get home from work and school," Ayala said of the video's inspiration. "The riots were a result of racist police violence-an epidemic here in the country I live in. I could say more, but I would rather the video spoke for itself."

Chisholm and Skinner's nuanced instrumental composition serves as the perfect backdrop for the distressing footage-the music complements Ayala's profound commentary without overpowering its greater purpose. "I" is the second single from the multi-instrumentalists' post-rock masterwork Burgeoning Verse. Employing a dizzying array of vintage guitars, drums, bassoons, analog synthesizers, and boutique effect pedals, the ingenious duo have crafted auditory landscapes that run the full gamut of the experimental canon.

Though the fruits of their labors have only begun to surface this year, Chisholm and Skinner's collaboration has already spanned a half-decade. In early 2013, sickened by the accelerating decay of the world and their bodies, Chisholm and Skinner conspired an escape. Working in both digital and tactile formats, Burgeoning Verse is the product of a four-year toil-each of the album's ten tracks teeming with that near-maniacal devotion to their craft. Swarming with ambient swaths, chiming piano melodies, and knotty synth fills, Chisholm and Skinner have defied their goal of creating "a soundtrack to your dreams."

Burgeoning Verse will be released on April 20 via Weyrd Son Records. Preorders are available now here:
