Spanning myriad sonic and emotional landscapes, Burgeoning Verse's ten tracks showcase Chisholm and Skinner's near-maniacal devotion to their craft. Employing a dizzying array of vintage guitars, drums, bassoons, analog synthesizers, and boutique effect pedals, the ingenious duo have crafted auditory landscapes that run the full gamut of the experimental canon.
Though the products of their sonic experiments have only begun to surface this year, Chisholm and Skinner's collaboration has already spanned a half-decade. In early 2013, sickened by the accelerating decay of the world and their bodies, Chisholm and Skinner conspired an escape. Working in both digital and tactile formats, Burgeoning Verse is the product of a four-year toil, each of the album's ten tracks driven by both rhythm and repose. Swarming with ambient swaths, chiming piano melodies, and knotty synth fills, Chisholm and Skinner have defied their goal of creating "a soundtrack to your dreams."
Burgeoning Verse will be released on April 20 via Weyrd Son Records.
