When searching through our old VHS tapes, we found some musical treasures from the nineties. One is the Breaking The Rules video that shows Backtrack Lane shooting it, with a mix of black and white " making of " images and the ones of the final result. The video depicts a rock band very close to the boys bands image, and the reality of a shooting when all the band members are opposed to one another.

The self-derision of the band reaches its climax here. They want to provide more than a touch of humour and forget all the codes of rock music : no way to see the band members play together. This 90's version of Backtrack Lane is inspired by the boys bands wave, always looking perfect, and by all the dark-looking pop rock bands, perpetually dealing with egos issues. Because we all hate something, Breaking The Rules is a fresh and punchy track that will wake the rebel up inside you.

The verses are jerky and powerful first, then get more aerial. Perfect to walk the streets heads high, proud with your homies, your gang, or even alone on the way back from the bakers. The chorus is a federative and melodic call to chant !
