Having a Metal band in Brazil is not easy, either by difficulties involving the scene itself or the few opportunities that do not receive excellent bands. However persistence is one of the thousand qualities that bands of our country has, and the AS DRAMATIC HOMAGE would be no different, running in the opposite direction, are increasingly expanding its market and gaining more admirers.

Recently the site Road to Metal published an excellent review on the album "Crown", check out what the writer Eduardo Cadore talked about : " "Crown", which ends quickly ( just over 30 minutes), making it impossible to hearing becomes tiresome, shows all the talent that bridges and presents itself as a pleasant surprise as instrumental composer (he has experience, just need more recognition), led to the great lyrical reflections of philosophical origin, showing the ability to goes beyond the world of sound and put you to rethink existence."

The leader and mentor Alexandre Pontes participated in a survey on the blog Quality Music Web Radio alongside several renowned musicians from Brazil, "Like The Heavy Metal Entered In Your Life! ?"

Check out a snippet of what Alexandre told the blog: "I had a very lively family for some time and i remember that amidst the festivities at an aunt's house, where he always had a lot of samba, my older cousins took refuge in the room to hear rock. As we were a group of children who walked very close, was naturally go in one wave to the other and then the initiation Metal came around 84/85, with the disc Iron Maiden - Powerslave, my cousin was caught loaned to another fellow neighbor, who 's father was a sailor and brought these Lp 's in Europe when he traveled. throughout the disc i paid attention to the melodies, harmonies of the album and was really fascinated by everything that happened to each track, but the song "RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER" was that took my heart with all epic structure and somewhat dense, around your 6:20. So I have this moment that marked my life as initiation segment in Heavy Metal."

Amidst all these achievements and positive reviews, Alexandre Pontes was also interviewed by Arte Metal blog, where it speaks of the beginning of the band, the difficulty of having recorded the album "Crown" virtually alone and also about the next steps of AS DRAMATIC HOMAGE. A few excerpts from the interview by Hugo Vitor Franceschini:

The vocal work is presented on disc one of the positives. Switching between ripped and clean, and narrated passages are very engaged. How did you develop it?

Alexandre Pontes - Always took all grit and style "do it yourself ", then this is a gratifying observation, thank you. I think because of the time I do this function helped me, but the lines clean vocals were my biggest challenge. As i said earlier, i always wanted to develop for these higher levels, obviously in my situation, it is important to know how far you can get with your personality, without this wanting to emulate someone. I try to do the best with what I have, but I was not very capable, however all this energy that enveloped me in relation to the level of the songs made me have a little more courage!

And as has been the impact of the disc until then?

Alexandre Pontes - I run into this issue through various. Be successful or well passed between the public and media is something that there is no way to measure, because we are giving you the chance to be accepted or rejected on the personal taste of the people, not the big bands have much idea about it today. A group releases a CD, is sold little, the download is done much of that work. Touching the state itself is complicated, in other states is more, but if people hear something of your liking sound and your name will be passed. Disclosure "word of mouth" is still one of the best forms of disclosure. In our case I am very grounded, people from very different musical tastes dig our work and it is good, it shows that we are not focused on being within just a musical segment, but this is not an option, it is our characteristic music, our music speaks for itself. I'm not that way to be famous.

Interestingly, despite the "Crown" to be the first disk As Dramatic Homage shows an evolution in the sound of the compositions. That is, the band is embarking initiated in the ways of Black/Doom Metal, but today explores other elements such as the Progressive and Metal itself. Tell us a little about.

Alexandre Pontes - Is something that from the beginning of the band existed, follow this road was a novelty that impressed me enough at the time and evolve in my case has always been a goal, the ambition to progress and not follow trends. I do not think the style changed a lot, but I think we expand within our own identity. I know I am responsible for the fact that these "changes" because I have always been the composer and so over the years I had, as I still have interest in transit through new ways and develop myself as a composer.
