Today, The Ajna Offensive, in conspiracy with Norma Evangelium Diaboli, sets April 15th as the international release date for Altar of Perversion's LONG-awaited second album, Intra Naos. Some 17 years in the making since the band's classic debut album, Altar of Perversion's Intra Naos comprises 114 minutes of music across either a 3LP vinyl set in six-panel jacket with eight-page booklet or a 2CD set in six-panel digipack with 16-page booklet. The Ajna Offensive shall be handling the North American edition while Norma Evangelium Diaboli shall be handling the European edition.
Herein are six songs of profound introspection and honesty, unbridled by norms or trends, adhering to tenents of belief that should resonate with the seeker, the curious, the outsider. Altar of Perversion emerges from the void after 12 years of searching, reflecting, shattering the known, and invoking the unattainable in the quest for the numinous. Rather than scratching the surface, these songs reveal what lies beneath the surface and unravel the illustrious blackness within. This is the vision of Pan-European Satanism. This is timeless black metal as it was understood from its nascent core.
Says Mr. Northwind, editor of the long-running The Sinister Flame, "It was some 14 years ago I thanked Altar of Perversion in the preface of The Sinister Flame magazine for giving me 'hope regarding black metal.' Intra Naos, the long-awaited follow-up to their legendary debut album, From Dead Temples (Towards the Ast'ral Path), is finally here to answer why.
"It is critical to understand that Intra Naos is not just another record serving as mundane metal entertainment. This great work is a compelling journey into the world of Pan-European Satanism, as defined and exemplified by the Order of Nine Angles, and as such, conceptually and lyrically, the album's framework is thoroughly unique.
