German Death-Prog supergroup, Alkaloid, who have taken the metal world by storm with their explosive debut, "The Malkuth Grimoire" in March, will be finally taking the show on the road this week to Ireland for three dates before heading to Egypt to shoot their first video, the skull-splitter, "Cthulhu," with necro-visionary, Nader Sadek.

"We're flying to Cairo, then we have two days to do the video shoot," Hannes Grossmannn, drummer elite and founder, explains. "Nader is a video artist. He does a lot of stage props, creates art, does comic books and all that ' a lot of stuff and it's really impressive."

Triple-threat vocalist/guitarist/composer, Morean, explains, "The cool thing about this guy, Nader, this very guy, he is going to do our video. He offered, which I think is a fabulous offer, to do the clip if we would also consider doing the show, which is perfect." He adds, "We get to go down to Egypt, in the crinkle of civilization, and we're shooting a video in a fucked up building around the corner."

"I've been there before and the light is amazing!" Grossmann exclaimed.

"You have a strip of about three miles near the back of the Nile, where it is green, where everybody lives, eighty something million people. But, as soon as you leave that zone, you are in the Sahara Desert and there's nothing. Not even ants or flies. There's really literally nothing." Morean illustrates. "So, I'm very curious what Nader picked as a location. We already know and have discussed a bunch of conceptual ideas, because I kind of know what I would like. But, he also has a vision."

"There is a certain abstract style, a certain kind of stylish, morbid quality to his clips, which I think makes them very interesting and different to other clips, because they're a bit more artistic!a bit creepy, but not cheesy. So, I'm super excited to see what he does with the subject."

Why they chose the single, "Cthulhu," over the popular, "Funeral for a Continent," or the title track, was not only an aesthetics decision, but a practical one. Hannes stated, "I still think that considering most of the songs [on the album] are very long and there's really not a typical song, I still think if you're going to make a video ' which, of course will be very artistic and all ' it's still promotion. And if you do a promotional song, you should use one that's a bit 'catchy'."

"Although we're super psyched from an artistic viewpoint," Morean says, "as with all good art, this is going to have to happen with very few means. So, we have to use the quality of the location and the embodiment of our character to achieve what we like, with means which we have."

The release date is unknown at this time.
