Fili Bibiano
Fortress
If there is something that one desires, it should be fought for. There are things in life that in order to get them, an effort has to be made, as it is not just there for the taking. With enough motivation, and not always skill, it is possible to strive for what mind, soul and heart want, yet it could become a struggle. Fortress's Fili Bibiano wanted independence as an artist, and struggled quite a lot for it. Eventually, he came out as victorious with the formation of the Fortress. With the release of the band's debut, "Don't Spare The Wicked", Fili had a story to tell, and Steinmetal wishing to hear it.
Johhny Maule
Maule
Not every band out there really keeps in check everything, as most of the bands out there started, and some survive, based on pure fun. There is no detailed plan, unless this is an upcoming career path, and effort is made when needed. Bands like Maule, hailing from Canada, share devotion for the old school ways of making Metal, following the British side of things without question. Coming up with a new album, self-titled "Maule", is a showmanship of the freedom of Heavy Metal. Steinmetal had a good chat with the band's bass man, Johnny Maule, on the latter's perspective of the music and of course the process of the record.
Denis Brosowski
Iron Fate
It is no secret that it has been nearly impossible to whom to put one's trust in, in particular those that represent us, supposedly. People change their skins in a frequent rate, therefore, uncertainty of what is coming next, has an important part of our lives. The reformed Iron Fate band, which started quite well in their early days, returns after a deep slumber, with a new album, "Crimson Messiah", talking about those seducers, those that influence us, and cannot be trusted. Steinmetal had a talk with the band's Denis Brosowski about returning to the fold with new material, the new album and more…
Klauf
Morgul Blade
At times, to look for deeper messages, as if leaving every stone unturned, is not really needed. Simply, sit down, listen to the music, let your imagination run wild and that is it. Not every Metal band out there wishes to change things, hint of the false ongoing affairs that have been on the minds of its creators. There are those that venture beyond the public scrutiny and more into universes that would remain in songs. Talking with Klauf, of the US Morgul Blade, which recently released its new album, "Fell Sorcery Abounds", had Steinmetal strengthen his understanding that stories are told not always due to crucial reasoning.
Michael Stancel & Riley McShane
Allegaeon
Especially in these challenging times, where people lost their whole, it has to be mentioned that there are individuals that struggle on a daily basis with their mental state, constant battles of no end. Music can always inspire something inside, to let those in need understand that there yet another thing to hold on to in order to find comfort. The US Metal extremists, Allegaeon, took another step forward in their music, creative an intensity that reaches out, other than send away, with their new album, "Damnum". Steinnetal had a great talk with vocalist Riley McShane and guitarist Michael Stancel, about the album's spirituality, musical progress and more…

Adiant
ADIANT
hailing from
Styria
,
Austria
were formed in 2019. They are a symphonic Metal band with Death Metal elements. In November 2021, they released their debut full-length album "
Killing Dreams
" which was released via
German
label
Black Sunset
, a subdivision of
MDD Records
. A good reason for Metal Temple writer Thomas Kumke to talk with vocalist

and guitarist
Lizzy Siebenhofer
about the beginnings of
ADIANT

Aexylium
AEXYLIUM

"The Fifth Season,"
was released on October 29, 2021, on

to discuss
AEXYLIUM

"The Fifth Season."
Nick Layton
FireWölfe
Some might call it a journey, yet some might refer to it as a pure headache. Not just changing band members, but to actually go on a spiritual level, trying to understand what is good and what is evil. Both have a variety of definitions, and there are many forms of each walking among us, and think about the mixes. Coming back to the fold after years of absence, the Heavy Metal band, FireWölfe is back on track, laying down the law in the name of Traditional Metal. After ruling the night, the band released "Conquer All Fear", and it marks a beginning of something great. Steinmetal had a good talk with Nick Layton about the record and the journey ahead.
Dirk Willems & Mathieu Westerveld
Codex Mortis
The experience of the afterlife is merely projected through either books, movies and paintings. How does Death feel like? Time's endless question, which might never be answered. Maybe it is simpler than anyone think, yet there are those who choose to make it more than it is. The newfound Dutch Black Metal band, Codex Mortis, which became an inspiration for its two founding members for a continued exploration of their music, released its debut album, "What Befalls of Tainted Souls". Steinmetal had a talk with Dirk Willems & Mathieu Westerveld about the new band, the creation of the record, a little pandemic and more…
Brewin
The Dark Horde
Metal Temple
writer
Laura Glover
found herself deeply intrigued by the novel nature of this band.
THE DARK HORDE'S
unique approach to a concept album stands way out in a world where every band is looking to create something new. Not only is there the deeply artistic album, '
The Calling
", there is a companion book to the album. A fantasy/horror novel to further the storyline laid within the album. She can't recommend this style of metal higher to those out there who are deep in the horror/fantasy novel realm. This niche album is written JUST for you!
THE DARK HORDE
is comprised of
Danny Cecati
on vocals, Narrated by
Kevin Powe
, Storyline and Lyrics by
Brewin
.
Salvatore Andrea Ciccarelli, Ciro 'Kirion' Silvano, Graziano Ciccarelli
Jumpscare
When she first started writing for
METAL TEMPLE
, a little over two years ago,
Metal Temple
writer
Laura Glover
wrote a review for
JUMPSCARE
. This band has been one of the most intrinsic parts of her journey writing. Having connected to
JUMPSCARE
through their last album, "
Don't Close Your Eyes
", she felt the music inspired her to connect with
JUMPSCARE
and do an interview with them so she could share it with the world. This is a great and passionate band, made up of some really cool people who have something to offer in the way of artistic talent.
JUMPSCARE
is Melodic Death Metal, and is comprised of
Ciro 'Kirion' Silvano
on Vocals,
Salvatore Andrea Ciccarelli
on Bass,
Graziano Ciccarelli
on Drums.
Tristan Harders
Twilight Theatre
Think about the possibility that there are so many artists out there, musicians, part of bands, which have material kept in reserve, but are never used. The possibilities for countless of songs, converging into albums, are simply off the charts. Nevertheless, the chances of actually being able to enjoy these flakes of could be promises, are pretty slim. Terra Atlantica's vocalist, Tristan Harders, had time on his hands throughout the pandemic. Using his time, he went back in time, crossing old material that was never used, and did something with it, engineered it into an album under the moniker, Twilight Theatre. Steinmetal had to find out more about this new project, and the Power Metal it holds
Freddie Vidales
Ashes Of Ares
Those who say that life could be fair, are probably more in an error than in the right. Life is mostly not fair, as none could have all of what they want. Nevertheless, and sadly stated, there is a deviation between those on top, and those at the bottom. Of course, nobody wishes to be an underdog, or to be left out of being a decision party, yet at times, it is inescapable. Even though the Ashes Of Ares duo, Matt Barlow and Freddie Vidales, never really intended to come up with a direct statement, their new "Emperors and Fools" album in overall tells the bitter truth. Steinmetal had a good talk with guitarist Freddie Vidales about the new record, and the experience
Tom Björn
Memory Garden
When the pandemic started two years ago, there were several comparisons to previous pandemics, yet, and gladly for the mankind of the present, and with hopes, Covid doesn't measure up. There is also the technological advancement, which provides an edge, but everything converges, and surrounds people. The Swedish Memory Garden are back with new material, after quite a while, as they never left, portraying a fictional story, crossing the Black Plague, over "1349". Signing with the Greek No Remorse Records, as their new home, the Doom Metal band unleashed one of their heavier pieces to date. Steinmetal had a chat with Tom Björn about coming up with new material after so long, working on the album, the idea and idle, and more…
Sakis DarkFace
W.E.B.
It is possible that mankind will never learn from its past mistakes, and from what the present pictures and reflects, there is a little chance for someone to wake up and actually do something about it. Similar to ancient Rome, there is a pleasure in blood, meaning two people fight each other, and not for sport. The continuous fighting is a symbol, as if there is nothing more to take pleasure from. Blood on TV may just be the next stage, and no one would like to tread this field. The Greek extreme Metallers, W.E.B. took their new "Colosseum" to the next level, and it apparent that there are no stop signs. Steinmetal had a good talk with the band's founder, and leader, Sakis DarkFace, about his interpretation of all that surrounds the new album, and more…
Michael Klein
Wicked Sensation
Think about "what if". Also imagine that perhaps everyone could have gotten away with this pandemic, which has been a part of our lives for the past two years. Now, let's imagine that there is a hero out there, which was sent down to Earth to correct history. With all the Marvel universe going on, this is not that far-fetched of a story, or a glimmer of hope, even if impossible. Wondering about it, and the German Wicked Sensation comes up, raising the flag for a better future, which was altered in the past, through their new comeback album, "Outbreak". Steinmetal had the chance to understand more about the concept, the band's return, and more by talking to founder Michael Klein.
Eddy Helvete
The Noctambulant
Being authentic, that is quite the challenge, as every bit of artist out there wants to have an edge over the other, even if styles are so similar and patterns are equivalent. Being highly influenced by Scandinavian Black Metal, the American The Noctambulant wanted more of themselves, other than being worshippers of Northern frost. Taking Black Metal to the dripping heat of the South made things look different. With the release of their new album, "Hellrazor", raised upon the pandemic, there is a share of original songs along with covers and live features. Steinmetal had to find out about the Black Metallers from the swamps, with a conversation with Eddy Helvete
Bakka Larson
Necrofier
Something's got to give, and if a journey has to end, in order to start a new one, so be it, it will happen. The story of the Texas based, Necrofier, is based on a desire to put freshly written work to action, to be properly presented to those that wish to listen. Coming from a fairly religious area in the US, it was bound that the band's Black Metal repertoire would be extreme, and decisive. With the release of their debut album, "Prophecies of Eternal Darkness", through Season Of Mist. Steinmetal had to learn from the experience by speaking with the band's vocalist, Bakka Larson.
Corey Webb
Apostle Of Solitude
Negativity, and self-doubt, may as well be easy to accept, but to confront them with positivity, that is a challenge that a lot of people face on a daily basis. So how do you find an angle, they way out of a personal torment that at times becomes part of the person it holds? There is no straight answer but only a path to be set. The US Doom Metal band Apostle Of Solitude have known the darkened feelings deep inside, along with depression and its peers. "Until The Darkness Goes" is yet another token of their statement in regards to these strong emotions, but between the lines, invite the listener to experience coping in their own special way. Steinmetal had a good chance to talk with the band's drummer, Corey Webb, whom he talked about the sign of the times, being in family band, which isn't a cliché, and more…
Ludovico Cioffi
Nightland
Since reality has been a mind-set for most people, perhaps it would be best to sometimes, when out there roaming in wanders, to look up there, especially at night and simply look. At times, shapes would be created, converging through thoughts, as if those were celestial being, emerging and fading all at once. The Italian Nightland explore space, traveling beyond our recognition, telling a story that has its fair share of heavenly proportions, nonetheless, as an aiming for each person to look inside and explore one's own life experience, including pain. Steinmetal had a chance to talk with the band's Ludovico Cioffi about the band's sophomore album, "The Great Nothing", exploring the story, feeling the music and more…
James Danzo & Sarabeth Linden
Tower
The pandemic, which has been part of the lives of many for nearly two years, has taken its toll not only physically, and financially, but also mentally, with even deadlier effects. Schizophrenia is only part of the equation, other than being isolated, secluded and virtually alone at times, these are part of what has been going on. Letting it out through music, that is art, as if as a release mechanism. It may sound banal, because music does that all the time, but everyone has a story to tell. The US Metal old schoolers, Tower, part of the revival of the old Metal scene of the US, unleashed "Shock To The System", and their intentions are felt. Steinmetal had a good talk with guitarist, James Danzo, and vocalist, Sarabeth Linden, about the prospect of the record, making it and more…
Toni Fooler
Skeletoon
Devotion for the 80s, it doesn't have to be summed by its music but it can be other part of this large concept called the 80s decade. There are those that just can't live without the cult movies of that decade that inspired so many, even in their simplistic forms, in particular if compared to the industry today. The Italian Skeletoon, once again, went back in time but with the only franchise that actually did it well, "Back To The Future". Basing their new album, "The 1.21 Gigawatts Club", upon the classic saga, their made their Power Metal sound larger than anything else. Steinmetal took the journey with the band's vocalist, Toni Fooler, and found out some interesting things
Stu Callinan & Phillip T. King
Galaxy
Think about a reel, a kind of reel that shows you every bit of your life, from the point of birth until present, and even showing you a glimpse of possibilities of what the future holds. In a way, yes, it sounds creepy, but no less interesting. Sitting there, in the best seats in the house, it gets you to think of what you did and what you didn't, an endless contemplation, never to be resolved. The Australian Galaxy, orchestrated a general reel of life, twisting and turning, served under the title, "On the Shore of Life", inviting you to taste the sound, the atmosphere and more. Steinmetal talked to both songwriters, Stu Callinan and Phillip T. King about how things went along while this journey was created.
Nico Mirolla
Kardashev
Genre-nerds rejoice! A new sub-sub-genre is born. The founders of Deathgaze, US-based
KARDASHEV
, released their
"The Baring Of Shadows"
EP last year to great acclaim, including a subsequent signing to Metal Blade Records. The range of emotions is intense, with everything from outright grief to deep contemplation and regret. Given the time it was released there's certainly much most of us can relate to! Given the unique opportunity to talk to these guys,
Metal Temple
writer
Andrew Graham
wanted to gain insight into their creative process and what has influenced their sound and style. Over the course of or conversation they talked lockdown boredom, the value of grief and sadness, and lofty artistic influences. All this gives the impression of a unique group of musicians with a distinct vision and sound all their own, working to remind us all that there is value and wisdom in sadness, and that we have common ground in our suffering and collective hardships."
Bob Katsionis
Wonders
There is nothing better than keeping oneself busy. A busy bee has a lot going on, always on a lookout for additional projects, envisioning beyond limits and constantly wondering. The musician extraordinaire, Bob Kastionis, nearly saw everything in his life music wise, whether as a musician or a producer. Nonetheless, he never saw Wonders treading on his doorstep. Like a flash, he found a new venture, with people that he already knew, working on new ideas for a Power Metal adventure. The fruit of the group's labor resulted in "Fragments Of Wonder", an experience of the European Metal melody that is bound by glory and feels like victory. Steinmetal had to find out more about what Wonders are all about, Katsionis' perspective of the new album and more…
Krista Shipperbottom
LUTHARO
It is not easy to describe the sound of
LUTHARO
, since all members have different influences. They are from
Hamilton
,
Ontario
and were formed in 2014. The release of their debut full-length album "
Hiraeth
" does not give more clarity, but it is safe to say that the album is influenced by melodic Death Metal, Power, and Thrash Metal. That was only one of the topics
Metal Temple
writer
Thomas Kumke
talked about with vocalist
Krista Shipperbottom
. There was a lot to discuss about the band history, the new album,
Krista
's way to become a growling vocalist, her inspirations, challenges of being an independent band, and
LUTHARO
's future plans.
Samuel Cornelsen
Count Raven
And it just happened, after years of silence, the Swedish Doom Metal enthusiasts, Count Raven, are back in the fold. Was it under the radar or not? It doesn't really matter as their new album, "The Sixth Storm", was unleashed upon the worldwide Metal scene. Continuing their legacy of spirited Doom Metal, entrusted by old school values, Count Raven maintain their sound, and their presence. Atmosphere and heaviness unite, along with a voice that spreads far and wide, not really putting a focus on anything specific, leaving the listener to think about ideas and wonder thoughts as minutes of listening go by. Steinmetal had the chance to talk to Samuel Cornelsen, the new guy in the band, yet experienced musician, about the comeback and the album
Zeb Nilsson
Aeon
If it is successful enough, why not support like hell? In a way that is the story of Aeon up until their new album, "God Ends Here", emerged. With an astounding album out, the band toured, came back from a lineup change, and continued to triumph by touring. Prior to the new album, they even brought back an old band member, and the let the good times roll. Surging with an iron fist of old school Death Metal, the Swedish group sounds destructive than ever, wall of sounds, massive riffs and a deathly front end. Steinmetal had a chat with guitarist Zeb Nilsson, which is highly glad by the new prospect
Peter Ahonen
Burning Poin
At times, there is simply no time for past regrets, being angry at people that abandoned the journey while it is still on and relevant. It is a tough break to find new people to come along, join in, and take part in a vision, a dream, a stream of music that has to continue flowing. Peter Ahonen, leader of the Finnish Burning Point, had a few bruises with his past band members leaving the fold. Nevertheless, he overcame, rose to the challenge and came up being a winner. Continuing his band's legacy, Ahonen and Co. released "Arsonist Of The Soul", and it has plenty of reflections of the social order of mankind and inter relations. Steinmetal had to find out more about this new venture by the Power Metal band.
Jo Henning Kaasin
Kaasin
"Surely, you can do better". That is an unforgettable line that is bound to survive the test of time, and "Don't call me Shirley", follows it. But that is not the reason why this comical edge resurfaced. Jo Henning Kassin knew that he has something in the mind that has to be out, and in a different format, and it was better than he ever did. Therefore, Kaasin was born and its debut album, "Fired Up" is an evidence, a token, a parcel of huge amounts of talent, dictating the bread and butter of Blues / Hard Rock. Steinmetal had the honors to chat with Mr. Kaasin about this new journey of exploration through the veils of his own burning mind
Brett Clarin
Journey Into Darkness
After reviewing the new album by
JOURNEY INTO DARKNESS "Infinite Universe, Infinite Death", Metal Temple
writer
"Suicide" Cliff
had the fortune to interview the mastermind of the ominous symphonic black metal project,
Brett Clarin.
In this interview we discuss his motivations, inspirations, label experience, work process and some pro tips for any aspiring musicians. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing his responses and gained a lot of insight into the madness behind the band.
Sean McBay
Sandstone
Every album is a personal journey of a songwriter, or a band of songwriters, whether life stories, or imagination gone wild, it is all there. There is no specific point in a songwriter's career where he tells himself that he has to better, there is no such thing. It is an inner feeling that is each to his / her own. Sandstone, the British Metal band returning with a new album, made an immense impact with a creative new album, "Epsilon Sky". Steinmetal had to find out on what was that all about, and had a good talk with frontman, Sean McBay
Tanya Finder
Shadowland
Living up with the attitude, to strive for glory while not really giving a rats about others do. Making it natural, true to one's self that is probably the best way to go. There are values that each person sets, and when it comes to music, the band can set the tone without looking sideways for references. The US Heavy Metal band Shadowland are a picture of NWOBHM, and one of its versions of how it is played out in the present. The folks might be old school, yet they are also quite colourful. Steinmetal had a great talk with the band's vocalist, about the new album, her perception towards the album and its themes and more…
Benni Leiter
Organic
If there is one thing that cannot be taken away from Metal music, well to be honest one cannot take anything, is the sound. Even though the American version of Death Metal has its own richness, the Swedish HM-2 chainsaw signature is undying and it prolonged by young bands that never lose touch or the taste for that cutting edge. Organic from Italy, which sound like die-harders of the Swedish persuasion, continue their journey, gazing upon the eyes of Death, on "Where Graves Abound". Steinmetal had a talk with Benni Leiter of the band about the album, the feel of the sound and more…
Tomas Nilsson
Zornheym
Writing a story is a challenge, yet writing and producing a story into a musical piece, especially a kind of tale that is supposed to sweep people off their feet into a bellyful of horrors, now that is a sort of a test of bravery. The universe of Zornheim, which was forged seven years ago is advancing, constantly developed, paving the road to a form of horror that is a test to the human condition. Following an amazing debut, Tomas Nilsson and Co. continued with a second episode, titled "The Zornheim Sleep Experiment". It is guaranteed that there will be no sleep while listening to this. Steinmetal had to find out what is beyond the gate of the Asylum, while Nilsson is leading the way.
Thomas Bergli
Sarke
Out of the darkness, and into the dark once again. There are various secrets and much to learn in order to truly comprehend the essence of darkness within music, especially Metal music. What is most exciting is that there is never an actual formula to how to do it, it is purely made of thought. The Nordic Sarke has always been a creative and artistic group, trying to find that angle that would render their coldness and atmospheric sense within extreme Metal. Going on yet another different path this time around, with the release of "Allsighr", there is much to witness and understand. Steinmetal had a chance to talk to Thomas Bergli, aka Sarke, about the new album, the direction of the band and more..
