Head on attitude can bring results and it sure did. Steinmetal had a chat with the band's Michel Gambini regarding the new album, new signing and what is their attitude is all about.

Cheers Michel, thank you for taking the time for this interview for Metal Temple Magazine. What have been up to these days?

Thank you Metal Temple! We have been busy celebrating and promoting our new record Maledictus Mundi, which was released via Massacre Records on October 26th. Very exciting times!

Newly signed to Massacre Records for the release of Seita's sophomore album, "Maledictus Mundi". How do you feel about the new signing?

It's an honor to be part of the Massacre Records family. We are extremely excited with this partnership.

I noticed that you were the only surviving member of the debut's lineup, what happened? Was it one of the reasons for the silence between the debut and "Maledictus Mundi"?

Life simply takes its course. Sometimes people need to change directions in their life, sometimes we all need to seek for different horizons. These is what happened. Different circumstances for each member that left, but we respect and have lot love for all of them.

I wouldn't say that this was the reason for the hiatus between the previous record and the new one. We simply had different priorities, we played a lot live and evolve as a band. Now when I listen to the new record I feel we made the right decisions.

Right from the get go when I took a crack out of "Maledictus Mundi", it was like being hit by a cannon, minus the giant hole. So much force piercing your brain, sometimes overwhelming. Was it your intention to simply strike as powerfully as possible with this album?

It's in Seita's DNA. It's something that comes naturally to us to try to seek for heavy and aggressive ways to express our music.

What is the source of all that all-out war anger that has been dominant in the album's songs?

We don't write songs about fairy tales. The demons we talk about are real. It's about the evil we seen the world we live in. It's about people and their struggles.

From there I see it, "Maledictus Mundi" is a substantial step forward for you guys technically, enhancing your share of influences to the limit. What is your input on that notion?

We love the fact that band keeps evolving. We challenge ourselves when writing music. We want to get better every time; we want to find different ways to express our ideas without giving up our identity. And Maledictus Mundi is the result of that.

Is there a going up from this technical diversity?

Who knows what the future will bring? We will definitely not become prisoners of our music, or trends, or anything. We will continue to follow our hearts and keep working to make good music.

After quite a lot of time between "Maledictus Mundi" and the debut, songwriting wise, what do you think is the key difference when comparing the two albums?

I think that the new record is a natural evolution from the point we started. It's darker, heavier, sometimes faster. We just tried to push the envelope in our own music.

What is your chosen no. 1 out of the album? Which song made you excel yourself the most and left an impact on you?

This new album is the first with Pablo Minoli on guitars. He is one of the best guitarists I know. He brought lots of ideas to the table and I love the result. I love the album in its entirety but if I had to pick one song, it would be Cowards to the Lions. That's Pablo's riff and I had to work very hard to deliver the guitar parts and vocals. We push each other to be the best we can be.

Other than doing local shows, are you planning to head out on tour in Europe to keep the support level up for the new release?

Definitely!! We are working on that. So keep tuned for news on that.

Michel, I must say that you guys are explosive, like listening to Machine Head and Pantera but on steroids and a lot more vicious. I wish you all the best of luck with the album its promotion. Thank you for the interview. Cheers 🙂
