Godsized

In 2015 it's hard to find bands that really stick out from the crowd, GODSIZED however do that with their hard hitting riffs and epic solos that are impossible to hate. Coming off the back of releasing their latest album ''Heavy Lies The Crown'' the band are in full spirits playing the S.O.P.H.I.E stage at the festival, Metal Temple talks to guitarist Chris Charles about the album and plans ahead.

How are you enjoying Bloodstock so far?

Great so far, we turned up pretty early and we're just waiting to play currently.

Any bands you're hoping to see today?

We haven't had chance to look at the running order yet but hopefully we can catch some bands before we play.

Is this your first time at Bloodstock?

Nah I came last year and had a great time but it's been a goal to play Bloodstock for a while now as it's becoming one of the major heavy festivals in the UK.

Have you played any other festivals this year?

Yeah, we got to play Wacken Festival the other week which is a huge size difference to here.

For people who've never listened to Godsized before how would you describe yourself?

If you like your music hard n heavy then you'll love it.

You've had your album ''Heavy Lies The Crown'' out for a while now, how do you think the response has been?

Yeah it's been out since about March time now and everyone said they're happy with it and the band is very proud.

What is your favourite track from the album?

Such a tough question as I love all of them but my favourites have to be ''Welcome to Hell'' and ''Never A Better Time'' along with ''Stone Cold Blow To The Head''.

Do you have any touring plans for the rest of the year?

Yeah we're playing some small festivals and hopefully going to sort some UK dates soon.

What bands inspire Godsized?

Loads of bands but mainly groups like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Clutch and Alter Bridge.

What inspired you to play metal?

I guess from just playing guitar and getting the vibe of it, metal fans really get into their music so it's great to see when on stage.

If you could play with any band live, who would it be?

I would LOVE to support Metallica one day.

Who inspired you to play guitar?

I grew up around it actually so my family really inspired me but I found bands like BLACK SABBATH & LED ZEPPELIN so that really got me into playing into heavier stuff.

Who are your top 5 guitarists?

Jimi Hendrix, Stevi Ray Vaughan, Kirk Hammet, Eric Gales and John Petrucci.

To people in bands wanting to get more known and into the festival circuit, what tips would you give?

Just keep playing! Play the smaller shows and festivals and you'll get there.

What are the bands goals for 2015/2016?

We've got some exciting things in the pipeline currently but you'll know soon enough.
