Hey dude! Thanks a lot! The tour was an awesome experience and the shows were powerful! We also had a truly great support band with us from the States named Summon which we spent a great time with! We really had the feeling that the tour was way too short, and when we got home, we wanted to go on for another two weeks, haha!
Hell yeah!! We're in good shape, haha!
The songs of the album got a really good response and the audience seemed to be quite familiar to the music of the Lair Of The White Worm. Some people told us that the new album is our best to date and wanted to have signs on their CDs. Well... the funniest thing would be that the guys from Summon came on stage during our last show of the tour and started singing along Sigma Enigma and two of them were also lying down on the stage because they were so stoned, haha! I think if you'd seen this, you'd laugh too, haha. It was a weird show but one of the coolest so far.
Since we are an on-line magazine, we have to ask you this. What is your relationship with the Internet and what do you think about it as a way of communication?
It's a nice way of communicating when necessary. I only send some e-mails or check some band websites or some information, and that's enough for me.
Yeah, we enjoy it for sure! Hmm, I don't think that we'd be asked to play in a movie, haha, but I'd go for it and give it a try; of course as a psycho-killing maniac! Nothing else, haha!!
We enjoy touring a lot!! Well, for me it's not hard because I am just crazy about music and I want to play as much as I can. Maybe it would be a different situation if I had a wife and kids but that's not the case right now, so I can do what I want to, when I want to.
I think that Slayer, Morbid Angel, Dismember (in the early days of our band), and Emperor are the most influential bands for God Dethroned. But when it comes to personal favorite musicians... It's quite hard for me to name influential musicians, but as far as metal goes, then it would be Dave Lombardo and Pete Sandoval. But the thing is that there are so many great drummers in so many styles. I think that when I hear a drummer with a great sound and energy and timing then it would already influence me. As long as a drummer is playing with feeling, creativity and dedication then I like it already and take some elements from their playing with me in my mind.
By listening to music other than Metal, haha. No, seriously: It's really refreshing to listen to different styles and sounds other than the music that you're used to be listening to as a musician. It's really pushing the creativity. It can be anything. And then when we start writing songs, most of the music comes spontaneously at the most unexpected moments or times.
Katafalk is great, Instil, and personally Osdorp Posse, but that's just my opinion, haha.
I don't think that's possible, haha. But it would be an honour to tour with them!!!
We can learn a lot from these guys! But the music would differ too much I guess... Most Earring fans wouldn't know what to do when we would start playing.
If I am not mistaken Henri has studied Mathematics hasn't he? Has anyone of the other members studied something apart from music?
Mathematics? No, I don't think he did. Henk [Henke Zinger - Bass] studied to become a teacher in building techniques for high-school students. Isaac [Delahaye - Guitar] and I studied music. I work part-time as a drum-teacher.
I enjoy traveling and seeing friends all over the country that I haven't seen in a long time. And to watch movies at the cinema or at home with friends and once in a while to party a little bit. Sometimes I play videogames or cycle for sports, besides the drumming.
No... not that much. Only twice if I'm correct. We actually have to laugh when we get such messages. It's very stupid of those people because they know we won't change for their benefits.
You're welcome!! Well, all I can say is: enjoy life and if possible: our new album!! Cheerio!!
