This City Speaks In Tongues
She Said Destroy

Almost everything that ends in -core, I must say that is not my field but it's nice to listen to something different from time to time. So, one of the reasons that this album fell into my hands is the previous one. I don't want to hide behind my finger; I didn't know anything about those guys.
The things that I managed to gather from the Internet are that SHE SAID DESTROY is a band that has as a base the city of Oslo in Norway. They formed in 2000 and their debut album Time Like Vines was out in 2006. Not much info, I know that, but those were the only things I found, since they don't have a webpage, their label site is not in English and the only things in their MySpace page are the above.
The album starts with Anders clearing his voice, before starting to scream and glow like a maniac, in a good way. Their music is more hardcore-oriented than Death Metal. The good thing is that This City Speaks In Tongues is not a boring album, since it has some progressive parts scattered in the album, besides the jazz cuts. The growls and shouts from Anders are a bit in front but they sound quite nice. The band seams to have lots of influences, from noise Rock and Death Metal to jazz and more experimental - progressive styles of, always extreme, Metal. The album rolls quite smoothly, for it's genre, for my ears, and that's a good thing. It didn't make me feel tired. My favorite songs from the album are Tea And Toast At The Very End Of Time for its changes in the rhythm during the whole composition, Servitude and We Will Never Learn for that jazz part.
A surprise album for me, since I'm not a fan of this genre of music and I kind of liked it. This City Speaks In Tongues has nice songs, with a satisfactory production, but it's only their second album and I think that they have room for improvement. But for now (and as a no hardcore fan):
