This is PHAZER's first sonic assault, In fact PHAZER is a Portuguese band which tries to conquer the rock metal universe by issuing its debut album Revelations. These guys manage to maintain a fresh new positive energy from the first few notes played on your sound system. Their sound is rock based with a new (but definitely not crappy pseudo - new) approach but mostly guitar / bass / drum based.
I think that this album mostly refers to those who would like to check out their alternative side and attitude - meaning that the whole sound approach here is quite refreshing and new. The songs indeed flow very easily and cover a wide spectrum of emotions - from depressive moments (such as Lament to the World ) up to up tempo songs with catchy choruses in the likes of Love Kills or groovy stuff like Revelations. There are also some quite heavy rock songs such as Benediction which give you the whole scenery of this album.
The Portuguese temperament of the band is also proven here by the flamenco type instrumental We're All Silent Witnesses (to be continued...). All of the songs in this album were written by Gil Neto, while the lyrics were synthesised by Miranda. You can find many interesting - experimental or innovative - sounds here such as Jingle Tambourines in Wonder Girl, or even some special Effects in Benediction. The voice is quite good and sings in many melody rock levels.
To get more informed about this album we tell ya that it was recorded at Namouche Studios in Lisbon, while it was produced by Quim Monte, Fred Stone and PHAZER. To sum it up if you wanna give yourself a chance for something really cool, refreshing new rock sound and also dig into something quite new and unique Revelations is your next choice.
