An afternoon with a very tender temperature (nothing above 23 Celsius degrees) on Teatro Odisséia was asking for a very good Metal event, at that was accomplished: we could see ALMAH, the band from former ANGRA vocalist Edu Falaschi (I really didn't have to write this, but here it is), and with the, DREADNOX, a very good name from Rio de Janeiro's Metal scene was chosen as the opening act.

About DREADNOX's music: how it's very good to see (and hear, of course) a band doing a traditional way of Heavy Metal with some Thrash Metal adrenaline (especially for the guitar riffs), with lots of good melodies.

Fábio Schneider (vocals), Kiko Dittert (guitars), Dead Montana (bass) and Felipe Curi (drums) focusing their efforts on the whole as a band, without any individual exhibitions (beside all of them are fine musicians), and a more heavy and aggressive approach is what we can hear on the music of the soon to be released new album, "The Hero Inside", as "Final Siege" and "The Hero Inside", but of course they played as well some songs from their anterior albums, 1998's "Divine Act" and 2010's "Dance of Ignorance", as "Fight With the Light" and "Loser", but the public became insane when they played a particular version for METALLICA's "Sad But True".

Very good attitude on stage, playing hard, loud and heavy all the time, with great performance from Fábio on vocals, your old Big Daddy can say that, going this way, "The Hero Inside" can be one of the best albums from Brazilian bands from this year.

Setlist:
1. Final Siege
2. Miracle (Dance of Ignorance)
3. Who Can Be Sure of Anything?
4. Loser (Divine Act)
5. Sad But True
6. Dreamcatcher
7. The Hero Inside
8. Fight With the Light (Dance of Ignorance)
9. Refuse Resist

Then, after sometimes for preparations, was time for ALMAH come to the stage and make an excellent show.

Besides some technical problems appeared on the start of the show (something with Diogo Dafras' guitar amplifier, it seemed), the things all were going to their places. The sound quality became better and better, so we could see one of the finest bands from Brazil on the stage.

Your old Daddy here could speak many and many words, but it wouldn't be enough. Marcelo Barbosa and Diogo Dafras on guitars are perfect, playing great and heavy riffs and dueling on solos, as Raphael Dafras on bass guitars have a great technique. The three on stage have a very good attitude, and Marcelo Moreira on drums is a powerhouse, perfect on the tempos and a high level technique. And Edu Falaschi is one of the best Brazilian singers in Metal music, a good frontman (his synergy with the public is something astonishing) and very kind and having lots of sympathy on the stage and out of it. And joyful, for one fan asked about Saint Seyia's theme ("Pegasus Fantasy", that Edu sang for Brazilian version some years ago), and he answered very polite that this song will haunt he forever.

And who it's good to hear songs like the excellent pieces "Hypnotized", the hymn "Living and Drifting", the beautiful ballad "Breath" (great exhibition from Edu on vocals and Marcelo on guitars), the energetic "Believer" (the drums from Marcelo are something astonishing), "Warm Wind" and their version for ANGRA's "Heroes of Sand". And the public on the venue screamed, obeyed every command from Edu, and after the show, they were applauded effusively by the public.

Setlist:
1. The Hostage
2. Beyond Tomorrow
3. Children of Lies
4. Breathe
5. Believer
6. Beware the Stroke
7. Late Night In 85
8. Raise the Sun
9. Days of the New
10. Warm Wind
11. Wings of Revolution
12. Trace of Trait
13. Heroes of Sand
14. Torn
15. Birds of Prey
16. King

Excellent event, and I hope Blog'n'Roll and Teatro Odisseia will bring more and more good bands for Rio De Janeiro.
