Quite impressive debut demo. These Irish lads really delivered some old school metal that sounds so sweet in my ears! Damn we need more bands from Ireland! Thinking about it this country has really offered some fine acts. NEMESIS is too young of course but they seem to have what it takes to follow a career similar with other Irish acts.
Speaking of young, NEMESIS formed only back in 2005 (while still at school), this demo CD is their first recording attempt and I dare to say apart any naive and enthusiasm they seem to be quite focused on what they are doing. Heavily influenced by the 80's sound of raw heavy metal with many dashes of folk (a trademark in many Irish acts I have to say) they sound soooo out there and distinct compared to the countless clones of modern metal crap.
...and you just have to LOVE the way Dwayne Maguire sings. He's not a top-notch vocalist for god's shake - but truth is that his voice really fits like glove with the band's music. In conclusion this is a really interesting piece of work. Fans of such rare music nowadays should spend some time checking them out.
