Friday March 21st, was held the "Halo Of Blood Tour" at the Fillmore in Silver Springs MD. CHILDREN OF BODOM, the headliners, DEATH ANGEL, a group of Metal veterans, and TYR, a fine Viking Metal band all three took the stage to complete the epic evening as three separate sub genres of Metal rocked out Silver Springs. Yes, the show was fantastic from start to finish. There was quite a decent turnout, and tremendous energy all over the building Friday Evening. The lighting was badass; complete with strobe lights and everything. My photographer Joe really got some fantastic pictures.
The evening began with TYR taking the stage to get everybody pumped. The Viking warriors did a perfect job of that too. They had great energy, and connected well with the crowd. Their live performance was spot on too. Everyone was together and right on. I really believe that their Melodic, Black / Folkish sound was the perfect start to the show. Not to mention they had some pretty awesome t-shirts and merch. I can't wait to see them again live. Rock On Brothers!

DEATH ANGEL was our second act of the night, really speeding things up with their Thrashin jingles. These guys really did it right. There Thrash sound was enough to really stir everybody up. Now let's not forget that DEATH ANGEL are veterans of the Metal community. These guys had tremendous energy on stage, showing their profound experience of almost three decades of bashing and thrashing like maniacs. I mean they were tremendous. And they really knew how to get in touch with the crowd, like a second nature to them. I had the opportunity to interview the guitarist, and speak to the other members, and they are all really awesome fellows.

To end the night we had the headliners, the ever badass CHILDREN OF BODOM, out of the Finnish lands. When these guys started everybody lost their minds. They killed it. Their crowd interaction was awesome, yes they got the crowd nice and riled up. There is no wonder CHILDREN OF BODOM are one of the giants in the scene today, both musical and when it comes to connection with the fans and showing their gratitude to their followers. They're all very talented musicians, and their live performance is pretty awesome. On most cases they sounded very much the same as on CD, which is the best as one of the things that I do hate is groups that over produce. Energy was sky high at this point in the show, pulling up some explosive trigger hits like "Bodom Beach Terror", "Follow The Reaper", "Angels Don't Kill" and "Downfall". The set ended in an Encore, to conclude a great night.
