SAVAGE MESSIAH were announced late for the UK tour but certainly did not disappoint fans, many people know that the London Thrashers are the next big Thrash band to enter into mainstream and people who never listened to them before certainly think the same. Vocalist Dave Silver has vocals which take you completely out of this world when performing tracks such as ''All Seeing I'', ''Plague Of Conscience'' and newest release ''Hellblazer'', his vocals are extremely high but have a huge range alike to KING DIAMOND or BRUCE DICKINSON which you either love or hate but the guitar work by Jeff Bailey is on the other end of the spectrum playing low and heavy Thrash riffs which have an old school style with a new school twist. The band have a great stage presence with how they mix their fresh sound with high vocals and really know how to get the crowd energetic, SAVAGE MESSIAH made their current fans love them more and gained new fans from SOULFLY's dedicated fan base. No doubt that their new release is something to be proud of, retaining the old grandeur of British Thrash and Heavy Metal and swinging it back into recognition.
Next on the basement stage is the most anticipated band of the night, Brazilian / American thrasher's SOULFLY. Opening up their super long hour and fifteen minute set with ''Bloodshed'' was a decision to get the tiny basement shaking to its foundations and it only got heavier with songs such as ''Back To Primitive'' and ''Cannibal Holocaust'' but the real treat of the night was Max Cavalera going back to his old ways of playing famous SEPULTURA tracks ''Roots Bloody Roots'', ''Refuse / Resist'' , ''Territory'' and ''Troops Of Doom'' which had the crowd quickly going mental, it was quire supreme, the energies were wild and it was hard to ignore the legacy that this man created. Max's son Zyon played with them on drums showing off on the newest tracks he is featured in, some really good ones I might add, he looks extremely comfortable working with his father's band and fits in better than the previous drummer but Marc Rizzo's guitar solo in ''Master Of Savagery'' really stole the show away, one of the best technical guitarists out there for sure. SOULFLY end the show with every fan's favourite song ''JumpDaFuckUp'' which has the packed out venue jumping at every beat. Something Punky and in your face for the finishing fist.
The sold out show is one which will stick in everyone's heads, the crowd were easily warmed up by SAVAGE MESSIAH but were pumped up and sweaty 3 song's into SOULFLY's set. SOULFLY combine energetic Thrash and Groove with new age extreme Metal but with their own twist, no band could ever come close to their sound no matter how hard they tried.
