Promo 2005 - DEMO
Neongod

Well, I can say that Neongod managed to grab me by the throat with their massive sound. Though not exactly my cup of tea, I'll admit that I am really impressed by the power of this band's music. This four-track Demo should definitely guarantee them a contract with a record label.
There is an interesting background about these musicians consisting this band since they have been members of Chain Collector and Carpathian Forest. However their music is not that close to the music they delivered with the aforementioned bands. Imagine a mixture of modern Death Metal, Metalcore, generally a really American orientated sound in any way you look at it.
Yeah, the sound is heavy as hell with low tuned guitars and a balsy vocals performance. Let's also mention that Svein Reinton is actually a... drummer! But he managed to follow the rest of the band in their demolition style. The band's dedication to power is also proved by the fact that three out of four songs are mid tempo compositions (only Disease Inc. is fast - but the vocals maintain the same pace, a nice trick to give continuation to the band's sound). Trust me, this mid tempo deal works out well for the band since the rhythm section really crushes bones.
All in all I found this self-titled Demo to be a mature outcome of dedicated musicians of a band band that has already found a musical identity. I'm sure we will hear more from them in due time.
