With risk of repeating myself I say it again; I really love to see bands playing at this kind of place. It's always a guarantee that the place will be packed and it's damn much fun to see the craziness going on on and off stage.

ASSAULTERY kicked off the event when enough people had shown up. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by these local boys. Old school Thrash with a lot of influences from Germany, the more primitive parts but also a touch of VENOM and that's what separates them from a lot of other bands in the genre today. They also had some really interesting melodies which absolutely isn't common and that too did a lot for the complete picture. Just as IN FLAMES did, or other bands from the Gothenburg scene a decade ago who also stood out from the mass of brutal Music. Not that ASSAULTERY sound anything like IN FLAMES, they're way more primitive than that and nowhere near classic Gothenburg sound. It's not more than that the melodies made me think of bands from that genre. Also it's very fun to see a fivesome trying to squeeze on that tiny little stage, sure it works but it doesn't allow much movement. Erik (vocals) was just a few millimeters away from smashing his nose into the spiky guitar heads. Sure, blood and gore belongs to the music but maybe not in that way. Anyway, ASSAULTERY did a great gig and it will be really much fun to see what they can do on a real stage.

That F.K.U would thrash the place didn't come as any surprise at all. Three seconds of their set and I was smacked up against the PA system and felt like sardine neatly packed in a tin-can. I managed to hold off for a few more seconds before I fled the frontline and watched from a secure distance (that being about a meter and a half away from the stage, the place just isn't bigger). Need I say the rest of the hour they played was equally hysterical? I'm not sure if it was an attempt to create a wall of death or a mixture of an intoxicated crowd and pure moshing but people bounced off each other and lonely shoes appeared here and there. F.K.U was playing one of their first gig for the new release "Where Moshers Dwell" and the future looks terrific for this spooky bunch. Songs like "Worms" and "Bedilla - Back For Cake" are instant classics and it's so cool to watch a band with this potential on a small stage as Bryggeriet. The whole concept with F.K.U, the small speeches between the songs, the gimmick and the make up fits right in. Normally this type of get together tends to be a lot SPINAL TAP but F.K.U really gets away with it. Not even that Larry Lethal (Lawrence Mackrory for real) speaks English between the songs feels strange or stupid, it all fits right in. And yes, everyone in the building was a Moshoholic and signed right up for "Moshoholics Anonymous".

One a little strange thing though is that the stage didn't seem as small when F.K.U was playing. Perhaps they had a little better structure between each other and are more used to play any odd type of stage. Or maybe the first row of the crowd were lying flat on the stage and made it impossible for them all to move from where they were standing, squeezed up towards the walls…
