How are you enjoying Bloodstock this year?

I can't complain! No rain, just sunshine and some great crowds about this year.

You're playing pretty high on the bill, what kind of setlist can we be expecting?

Well we try to cover all albums in the setlist in a set but we're playing 3 new songs today so it'll be fun, we're high-ish in the bill so we have a 45 minute slot.

Any bands you're hoping to see whilst you're here?

I'm unsure if we'll have time but from back stage you can hear them!

Have you played any other festivals this summer?

Yeah it's been a great summer for festivals, we played Wacken last weekend and just got back from Holland as we played Into The Grave but a few more to go.

Any touring plans for this year?

Well this year has already been pretty busy with touring America and festivals but they're will be some smaller tours around later this year too and planning for next too.

Will 2016 be a more relaxed year?

I honestly have no idea, it really depends what offers we get but it could be relaxed or super busy.

What bands inspire Ensiferum?

Well when we started out it was bands like Iron Maiden, Dark Tranquility and many more but we've developed our own sound from that.

Do you think the band has a really solid fan base growing?

Yeah, we get to see people in war paint at our gigs which really puts a smile on our face along with swords too!

What bands inspired you to play guitar?

Personally my idols are Kerry King /Jeff Hanneman (Slayer) and Megadeth were a huge inspiration to me too.

What are your tips for bands who are wanting to get on the road and start touring?

Like our guitar player Markus used to say ''don't be a pussy on tour''..

What are the worst things about touring?

Having to search for a toilet in the morning, you have to find the tour manager and ask them so it's a lot of hassle.

Any albums you're really enjoying currently?

Machine Head's new album is absolutely superb.

If you could play with any band in the world, who would it be?

Tough one! The band have a thing for glam rock/metal so I think it'd have to be a band from that genre.
