Deaf To Our Prayers
Heaven Shall Burn

Heaven is burnt to the ground and I think that these guys are responsible for it! Heaven Shall Burn are here once again to prove that they're one of the top acts of Melodic Death Metal/Metalcore. Ok, I know that Metalcore is a boring genre for most of you out there, but you have to admit that there are also some good releases. One of them is definitely Deaf To Our Prayers.
Heaven Shall Burn strike back strike back with a brand new album and they're ready to kick some major ass! After their previous album Antigone (2004), which proved many things to those who defied their talent, and the second split CD with Caliban (they had also released one in 2000), Heaven Shall Burn seem much more mature. Previous guitarist Patrick Schleitzer left the band to concentrate on his personal life, and he was replaced by Alexander Dietz, who already did guest-vocals on some of the tracks of Antigone.
Ok guys. No more fun. This is a killer album! I too got bored of all those Metalcore acts out there, but believe me, these guys have the talent! There could be no better way to continue after Antigone than Deaf To Our Prayers! Heaven Shall Burn are based mostly on their Death Metal influences than any other melodic shit. Marcus's growling vocals are really something! Matthias's drumming tears everything apart, the guitarists are shredding like maniacs and the bass gives the tracks just what they need! Heaven Shall Burn's lyrics have to do with politics and social injustice. As they say: Again, we stayed away from topics such as heartache, problems with parents and 'I'll kill every single one of you'. We know that there are people out there who want to use their heads for banging AND thinking. The album's title and some songs are influenced by some historical events such as the situation of industrial workers from Silesia in the 19th century. Anyway, this is a raw and strong album that will definitely stay stuck in your CD players.
If you like this kind of music or at least don't hate it, go grab this CD. I think that you won't regret it.
If I am not mistaken, the CD comes with a bonus DVD which includes a full live set and the video for The Weapon They Fear.
