HEGEROTH is a two-person Black Metal band formed in Poland in 2010. Their music is Melodic Black Metal with both "traditional metal features and an openness to new experiences." The album contains eight tracks. "In Torment - part 1" leads off the album. It opens slowly with a ton of cymbal crashes, followed by a wall of guitars and a steady rasp of vocals. It picks up with double time kick drums, and then it slides into a groove. At the very least, they are switching things up throughout the track.

"Out of Habit" begins with a slow and powerful grind again with the percussion being a bit extra. The guitars aren't completely swallowing but they are close. "In Torment - part 2" begins with another slow groove of rhythm guitars and horrid vocals. An amateur-at-best guitar solo closes the song. "From Nothingness" is a shorter song with much of the same sound. I am not getting many melodic moments as the band professes. Instead, you get this chaotic sound which becomes less cloudy only from the occasional cleaner guitar sound.

"In Torment - part 3" completes the trilogy, but of what, I really don't know. It features a much faster moving song as well as one where the band hits more notes and accents. It's quite harrowing, but beyond that, there isn't much to talk about. "With Devotion" closes the album, beginning with another chaotic rhythm section and horrid, evil vocals. It takes a slower path around the half-way mark, finishing on more of the faster sound again. Although the music is powerful, it doesn't diversify much at all. Combine this with the overriding percussion turned up to 11, the amateur production value, and some missed notes here and there, there is really no reason to purchase this album. It's way to "Old School" in its musical approach.
