It is honestly hard for me to believe this band has been around since 1998 and I didn't know about it, shame on me. SERRATED bring out a very interesting mix of sounds in this EP, which consists of three new songs (tracks 1, 3 & 4) and two songs (tracks 2 & 5) which were previously released as singles, now remixed and remastered. When the cover art is all you know so far, you try to figure out what the sound would be like, a city war scene of destruction might give you an idea of wat to expect.

"Attributes of Aggression" starts full-on groove mode with a catchy riff that will have you headbanging in no time, kind off has a SUPERJOINT RITUAL vibe in it, this type of songs are the reason why circle pits exist. After being grooving to the sweet riffs for a while the song goes into a quite melodic passage which far from feeling out of place, perfectly suits the mood, then closing with a second round of mosh pit inducing riffs,

"Starining to See" has S.O.D. written all over it, spiced up with the band's own secret recipe. I absolutely love this track; it brings up that energy and feeling of going out and break havoc. The title track to this EP and third one of the new songs is actually an instrumental, mid paced, yet powerful and pretty heavy, going into the melodious realm once again, including acoustics, but also delivering a sense of grievance and doom, like it was intended to provide a sense of despair and loss. "Four Corners" is what I call a highway tune, the type of song you would be blasting and headbanging to on a death racer convertible while driving on an empty highway at full speed, dressed in black leather and you go picture the rest of the scene your own way, super cool tune.

"Life is Pain" is the closing track on this EP. The vocals on this song were actually performed by Darik Arant (R.I.P. 2013) but they just don't really sound too different as to make the release lose its sense of wholeness. There is a fine guitar work on this tune. This is overall a great EP that could help the band earn their well-deserved spot int the metal ranks, I am sure fans of a wide range of styles from HC to DM will be pleased like me and headbanging to "Sifting Through the Remnants".
