Evildoer - Terror Audio album cover

For once more a Swedish band proves that people there are keeping the flame alive...Death/Thrash Metal has its second coming and obviously it's a musical style that inspires a lot of musicians. Evildoer is definitely one of them.
Evildoer was formed in 2004 by Johan (guitars) and Agge (drums). Later some other members were recruited to complete the lineup. They recorded their first Demo in August 2004 and then the negotiations with the labels started. It was Scarlet Records that signed Evildoer. Lucas (guitars) at that time decided to leave the band and Andy from Gothenburg Death thrashers Within  Y joined the band and became part of the lineup. Their fist album was recorded at the famous Berno Studio in Malmo, Sweden with producer Berno Paulsson.
Evildoer's music has expanded from pure Grind parts to Death Metal riffs with some melodic passages here and there. Their harsh Thrash Metal playing reminds me of Slayer or Terror 2000. As an original Swedish band, they followed The Haunted's and early-Darkane's path and they've created a full of aggressiveness and brutality album. However, I would be lying if I would say that they are original or that they had put new elements in their music. It seems like they are trying to fit in the Swedish scene without however creating their own unique sound. I'm not saying that they are not good. It's just that I didn't find something so special in this release. The truth is that it blows your head away with its aggressiveness but I'll be waiting for something different and better next time because it's pretty obvious that they are very good in what they are doing. Besides, this is just their first attempt.
All the Death/Thrash metallers who like the Gothenburg style of playing will be very pleased by this release and I would recommend you to check this out. I am looking forward to their next release and I hope that Evildoer won't let me down.
