Endyium - DEMO
Endyium

You can find some shocking things in your basement: cobwebs, toys you thought you'd lost at age 9, and for some, the desire to record a darn fine Demo. The latter is what Endyium felt apparently because over the span of two days they recorded this very impressive first three song Demo. A young band (their current lineup has only been together for 3 years), with tremendous talent and no label. It wouldn't surprise me if that changed soon, however, because I have heard many signed bands who are nowhere near this good.
Nate LeGault-Roth (vocals & guitars) formed Endyium in 1999 and went through many lineup changes before settling on their current group in 2002.This is their first Demo and was recorded in two days.
Everything on this Demo is done well but the guitarist goes above and beyond the call of duty. His solos bring tears to my eyes, you don't hear many first efforts with solos like these! The music is melodic and catchy. There is a good level of aggression here and a good inspirational feel. Sometimes (Soldier Unbound) you can hear some Punk influence in their music. The vocals also stand out; Nate stays mostly within the mid-range but when he wants to he can soar with the eagles. Coincidentally, Soldier Unbound is also my favorite song on the demo with Eye Of The Storm following it. The last song is an eerie little number that is reminiscent of Iron Maiden at times.
The production isn't half bad considering the time and location it was recorded in. My only other complaint is that I could do with more songs.
This demo is a fine first effort. If they continue to improve from here I can see them taking a lofty position in my CD player in the near future. I will watch Endyium with considerable interest!
