The time is 1987 to 1992. I walk into the record store and look at the band logos and album artwork to decide which tapes to buy. I find a kickass logo and artwork and pay my allowance and head for the door. Time to pop this baby in! This is the feeling I get from "Restructure the Molded Mind" by HEMOTOXIN. It's a risky move any band to put together a package of artwork and music that brings back the past but this band does it with conviction and heart. Solid writing and production throughout this release. Fans of MORBID ANGEL, DEATH and the rest of the early Death Metal (from now on, DM) scene would do well to check out this release.

Guitar-wise I definitely hear the MORBID ANGEL influence. Vocals remind me of later EMPEROR or DEATH, neither quite screams nor low growls. The guitar work has that swollen MORBID ANGEL tone and the drums definitely remind me of early Pete Sandoval. Are we beginning to see a theme? This band has learned well from MORBID ANGEL but are in no way a rip-off or clone. There is enough originality to their sound to keep you from feeling like your listening to an imitation *coughs* NILE.

"Nihilistic Principle" is the first track and it comes out in full early DM force. Double bass drums that lead to slow breaks and I may be mistaken but I think I hear a fretless bass? I enjoy this song quite well. "Legions of Alienation" is another stand out track. Filled with trim picked riffs and squeals that leads to a breakdown that would have been right at home on "Domination". There is another breakdown with the same "fretless bass". I hope in the future we get to hear those slower breaks utilized more to hear more of the bass guitar, it definitely sets them apart. "Execution" begins with a clean guitar before launching into a slow riff playing full chords like Black Metal bands do. This quickly leads back into the traditional DM that HEMOTOXIN have been building up throughout.

The guitar work is more technical on the second half of the album and really gives the bass and drums a chance to shine. It brings to mind ATHIEST, OBLIVEON and CYNIC (although not as technical). "Execution" and "Automation" are savage tech death songs for any fans or Tampa Death Metal style but with Scandinavian Vocals and I believe that is the best way to describe this band in one phrase.
