Minds
Apollo Stands
APOLLO STANDS are a 5 man band from Norwich, UK. They have released their second album "Minds" on Feb 28th 2020. The new album is 6 songs long and a mix of heavy songs. APOLLO STANDS got together in 2016 & were nominated by Dr Johns Rock Surgery for album of the year in the E.A.M.T Awards in 2017 after coming 2nd the year before in 2016. The band have a mix of old school heaviness with new age synth thrown in the mix. The vocal tones on the album are deep & heavy like a dark thunder rumble. The bands videos are of great quality as well as sounding on point. The album may only have 6 tracks, but it's a full on album that sounds great. The guitars, drums & synth are played fantastically. Vocally the singing melds together with the music like a glove fitting a hand, they just go together so well.
Opening the new album we have the first song "Psyparadar" which opens up with guitars, drums & synth on a medium sort of wave which is made heavier with the bass coming in to join it. The song takes a couple of minutes for the vocals to jump in, but when they do the song opens right up! Song number 2 on the new album "Minds" is called "A Mortal World" and is a fine sounding song that opens with some ace beats & riffs. It's a kinda Prog Metal sound & lasts 4 minutes 19 seconds. The song is defiantly one to swing your hair in time to. Jumping on to song number 4 we have "Titan." This song opens with low, deep tones on synth which is sweet to listen to. It's then joined by first the drums then guitar & finally vocals. It's such a good song musically & is really good lyrically too. The riffs are heavy, the beats are hard the vocals are strong, you couldn't really ask more from the lads. Closing the album is song number 6 "In The Garden" which opens with softer tones & quickly melds into heavier & faster paced play. It's a fast paced & heavily charged song with excellent lyrics that grab you & draw you to them.
Overall I really enjoyed the album "Minds". I have no complaints about it musically or lyrically. I'd say the album is well written & performed. The addition of the synth to the guitars & drums is an awesome addition that really works well when they are combined. I'd recommend the album quite highly & think I'm going to listen to the bands first album just to hear it cause I have enjoyed "Minds" thoroughly. If you like you music heavy & modern then give APOLLO STANDS new release "Minds" a spin & check it out, seriously high quality music.
