Demiricous - Two (Poverty) album cover

The first review on DEMIRICOUS was in 2006, when Grigoris grabbed his shovel and buried the band alive for its debut album One (Hellbound). The band is considered to be one of the best newcomers in the Metal scene. Although I disagree with this characterization, I believe that the Indianapolis based metallers are a really good band and they have many things to offer to this music. Greg, this is one hell of a good album!

The band released two demos, one in 2003 and one in 2004, and they were more than enough to secure them a contract with the German Metal Blade Records, where they released their debut album. Two (Poverty) is their second full-length album through Metal Blade and the band seems they are determined to prove that they are 21st century's SLAYER.

Do not get confused. There is no way I am comparing DEMIRICOUS to the gods of Thrash Metal, but I can say that they can be characterized as a modern version of the cult thrashers. The band manages to mix Thrash with Hardcore and add some slight Death Metal influences and the result is definitely more than interesting. Imagine guitars that shred like hell, drumming that is not aware of the words slow or soft (blasts rule!) and a singer that has is definitely the son of Jasta (HATEBREED) and Araya (SLAYER). What would you say if all of the above-mentioned things were equipped with a heavy as fuck production? Well, they certainly are!

I have been watching this band since their early steps and I can say that they are getting better every year that passes by. Two (Poverty) is definitely one step further from their debut album, and I am damn sure that their next album will kick my sorry ass even more. I am looking forward to their next Thrash assault!
