The Stench Of Redemption
Deicide

Behold! The most blasphemous band is back! Deicide are here to show us that nothing can stop them! Where do they get this power to keep going? May it be the devil himself that's giving them the strength, the talent? I don't think so. It must be much simpler. It's just that these guys have big balls and they are not afraid to show them in every album they release! Don't expect to see nude pictures in the booklet, I didn't mean that literally...
Deicide are one of the most important and well-known Death Metal bands. This is due to their title of the most blasphemous Death Metal band of all time! Songs like Bible Basher, Bastards Of Christ and Deicide (which means, killing a god), prove that these guys aren't kidding! Now, after a line up change, Deicide waved goodbye to the Hoffman brothers (the two guitarists of the band) and welcomed two well-known and credited guitar players, Jack Owen (ex-Cannibal Corpse) and Ralph Santolla (ex-Iced Earth, Death). With this brand new line up, Deicide recorded their new album, which is called The Stench Of Redemption.
Deicide's eighth full-length album would be a great surprise for me no matter what! With two new guitarists, especially Santolla who has always had a more melodic approach to music, this record would take Deicide's music a step further. And so he did! The first time I listened to the CD, I didn't know what to say! On the one hand I was amazed by how they still sound so fresh and so powerful but on the other hand I was confused with all the melodic stuff and shit! You don't have to worry. Santolla has always been (and will always be) in complete control of melody! He is a true architect and would never spoil Deicide's brutality! How can I give you an image on the new CD? I know how! Take some old, classic, brutal Deicide, add Owen's technical guitar shredding, and finally, imagine Scars Of The Crucifix's (2004) melodies ten times fucking heavier! Hell yeah! This is the new Deicide album! Until now, it is one of my top 2006 releases! I'm listening to Deicide since I was ten or eleven years old and I assure you, they have not released a heavier CD up to now! No, I will not compare it with classic gems like Deicide (1990) or Once Upon The Cross (1995), but it is... I don't know which word to use to describe this album! Every word I think of is too minor to reveal the magical atmosphere and the melodic yet brutal approach of The Stench Of Redemption! Many of you may say that when Deicide signed a contract with Earache Records they became more melodic. I totally disagree! They didn't become melodic, they just made their sound a bit more diverse! They are surely not amateurs in the music industry and they know how to maintain their music style! Don't tell me they ever let you down? Why should they do it now? These guys just won't sell out!
I have already listened to the CD 666 times! This album really blew me away! This band still stands proud and spits on Christianity! There are times that this band makes many blacksters seem like 5-year-old kids! Do NOT bypass this album! It will be a great mistake! Growl along... HOMAGE FOR SATAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!
The Stench Of Redemption is also available in clam case edition with picture cards of the band members and poster. There is also a limited to 4000 pieces clam case edition containing a bonus track, Deep Purple's Black Night, with re-written lyrics by Glen Benton, as well as the poster and the cards.
