You have to be kidding me right? How can something beautiful be ruined in zero time? In case you are wondering the same thing, just listen At Hell's Deep and find out. I won't even start talking about the band's name, nor the one of a kind song titles and cliches. After all this is an 80's replica.
Devil Lee Rot (is David Lee Roth aware of the existence of his evil twin brother?) apparently (according to the press kit that came with the CD) has been part of the underground scene for many years. His latest achievement is the band that carries his genius name. After passing through several cult acts it was time to desecrate 80's Metal...
Well, it is not a total desecration. Music-wise it is an average album that probably wouldn't have a better luck even if it was released back in the 80's. But the final strike to this piece of work are the vocals by none other than Mr. Devil himself. Holding my belly with laughter was the first thing to do. Black Metal a la Donald Duck vocals made me lower the speakers' volume just to avoid the laughter by my neighbors too. This has to be the worst vocal performance I have ever heard the last decade.
Whatever fragments of quality exist in this album are obliterated by the terrible vocals. Not even the pretty good production can save anything. With a different vocal approach this would have taken something more than...
