Termination Bliss

Well, I guess it is good to know that there are uglier people out there than our Chief Editor. I mean, these guys are really ugly - Plankton from SpongeBog Squarepants looks prettier. Anyway, I had the impression that I will totally bury this album but after listening to it several times I came to the conclusion that it was not that bad after all.
Swedish Deathstars released their previous album titled Synthetic Generation back in 2003 through Nuclear Blast Records that as far as I recall took a heavy beating from the local press - I haven't heard it so I can't express an opinion about it. Well, in Termination Bliss these lads deliver Electro Metal that is definitely not my favorite genre in heavy music. Listening to the album carefully, it is quite obvious that the band has given a lot of passion upon the compositions, they are quite detailed - filled with samplers, different vocal lines and... Electronic elements.
What I mostly can't stand is the use of the same tempo throughout the duration of an album. So maybe I can listen to some songs over and over again from this one but definitely not the entire album in a row. The production is bold and crystal clear, a really helping hand for the thick layered songs. Some of the most interesting songs in here are Blitzkrieg, Trinity Fields and Last Ammunition. Of course the similarity (because of the same tempo) doesn't really elevate some songs from the others but somehow the aforementioned ones drew my attention. In conclusion this might be a good Electro Metal album but it didn't manage to shake my tree. And for God's sake... you guys should stop putting your ugly faces on your albums' front covers!
