Distortion Of Perception - Project One - DEMO album cover

I know that their name probably brings in mind a Hardcore band but Distortion Of Perception play modern Death Metal! This is their debut recording attempt, as far as I can tell according to the short biography they included in the package they sent me.
Distortion Of Perception formed in 2003 and since then they've continued with the same lineup. Actually the band members are all students from Xanthi (hey, you should've been studying now!) and so far they've managed to perform at a few live gigs (some of them organized by the band themselves).
Without being something really special, Project One sets an unusualy high standard for a debut Demo. Musically speaking it is rather obvious that the band attempts to mix both sides of the ocean in matters of compositional ideology. Their strongest card is "Between Me And Myself that contains many layers; it's really technical and brings in mind the patterns Arch Enemy use (especially in the guitar solo parts - that are very nice in the entire Demo).
The production is pretty good and the whole packaging of the Demo shows a well taken care of piece of work. What's left to say is that if they put a lot of effort in their next work, they can deliver something great - they already have set a good base in my opinion. You can contact the band at distortionofperception@hotmail.com.
