I have always been a fan of solo projects. I  don't really know why but when I was younger, and listened things like AYREON, BATHORY and OLD MAN'S CHILD. I really admired those kind of people that  have all the talent within themselves, and don't need anyone else always to accomplish  what they're striving for. For me, being able to do that, earns a lot of respect from me towards the essence of the project. SIDUS ATRUM comes from Ukraine, and is the brainchild of one Yuliya Lykhotvor. A beautiful woman with a lot (and I mean a lot) of talent in her blood, giving us a mixture of Blackened Death Metal, with hints of Doom from time to time.

The sound of atmospheric landscapes begins the album, and then the keyboards start before a mid-tempo storm, full of classic riffs, constant bass lines. You know the kind I mean. The ones that give you the steady rhythm. There's a very good drum rhythm as well. The voice is standard overall, but if you consider that it's coming from a girl, (I don't want to sound sexist here) but a girl that is dominating a harsh-growl voice in each and every song, well, that is something you have to highlight above all.

I consider this to be too short of an album really, I would have liked probably 3 or 4 songs more. But, with all the talent contained within, I think the intention was just for making an impact, and  for sure it was.  I just feel with with more songs, the impact would have been bigger, just because there is  so much talent here.

After all, I don't think there are any the so-called, low points. Probably, this will not blow your mind at first listen. But ultimately, when you consider all of this originates from a one-woman project, the interest increases. Take a shot here, and give it a try. With just 2 or 3 listens I think you'll fall in love with it, easily.  I know there are many bands in this stream, and I listen to many of them. For mr to like this one as much as I do says a lot.
