Contradiction - The Voice Of Hatred album cover

My first non-Heavy/Power/Doom/etc Metal album was S.O.D.'s Speak English Or Die (1985) monument, the summer of 1986. I was thrilled to find out how speed, aggression and lyrical cleverness could be combined into one vinyl album. Later, I was taught that this was called Crossover, a mixture of Thrash's speed/power with  HC/Punk's hostility and passion. Twenty years later, Metalcore - a development (in my opinion) of what S.O.D. and other bands to be later mentioned offered back then - is in fashion, a fine lane to recommend a record deal (mainly in the U.S.) and a safe way to draw the modern Metal youth's attention.
The foundation of Germany's Contradiction occurred in 1989; pretty back in time. First demo, Deadly Games, came out two years later with Old Demon following up in 1992. It seems there was some buzz, since support slots for Iced Earth, Tankard and Massacra gigs were offered, along with the release of the band's debut album Rules Of Peace (1993). Following the release of the All We Hate (1996) album, a rather wretched period started for Contradiction, with label problems etc. Still, bad habits die hard so, Contradiction resurfaced with a new drummer, numerous shows across Germany, the release of the private Contraminated (2001) demo and extra 2003 appearances in Austria, Benelux and Czech Republic.
The return of HATRED! cries out a saying on the promo CD's inner liner notes. Who am I to disagree? Eleven tracks of absolute power, continuous grooves, a combination of Thrash parts and Hardcore beliefs during the whole album, surrounded by a tendency for German melancholy - at times - and an appropriate production (Blast It Studio, Wuppertal) for this sub-genre. Emotionally Lux's aggressive vocals assisted by furious or depressed guitar chords by Kamper and an all-guns-blazing Heyn/Obernyer rhythm section. All in the vein of bands like Propain, mid-age Kreator or angry In Flames. Do you need to know more?
Yes, you do. The Voice Of Hatred may stand strong and proud, still I didn't see anything new or majestic being offered. I'm not a great supporter of this specific field, still a safe mode has probably been followed. Hey, that's not a bad thing to do for a rookie but there are somehow more requirements from a 15+ years of career (be it beneficial or not).
