What is originality when we are dealing with Metal bands? A little explanation to make things clear: it's not about founding a new Metal genre, but to play it the way we can hear and to know your work just for that. Bands as IRON MAIDEN, SAXON, JUDAS PRIEST, ACCEPT and others are in the same genre, but aren't playing in the same way. Got it? It's not so difficult to understand. That's the reason I see with good eyes (or hear with good ears) "Jungle Rot", the new album of the North American trio JUNGLE ROT.

These juggernauts from Wisconsin are unleashing a violent and brutal traditional Death Metal in the North American Old School with some influences from earlier German Thrash Metal (due the technical approach they use). Nasty in the faster moments, oppressive and bitter on the slower parts, and without recreating Death Metal itself, they show an amazing work. Let me tell you: due their clear approach, all their musical features are improved in a way that many can't think of. Yes, my words mean that "Jungle Rot" is a good album.

To build such sound quality for "Jungle Rot", an experienced producer was demanded. And Chris "Wisco" Djuricic did a fine work, along with the Death Metal master Dan Swanö (who worked on the mixing and mastering), and the result is a perfect sound quality, that can sound aggressive and heavy, but clean and with very good instrumental tunes. It's a perfect work, indeed. And Gyula Havancsák created a fine and sick artwork for the cover.

"Jungle Rot" is really amazing, and songs as the bitter and nasty "Send Forth Oblivion" (excellent rhythmic changes, and great drumming and bass guitar), the crude slow parts of "A Burning Cinder" (a savage attack from guitar riffs), the excellent "Triggered" (another fine piece of sickening music, with this slow tempos and fine grunts), the moshpit call of "Fearmonger" (where Schmier, singer of DESTRUCTION, is singing some parts) and "Stay Dead", and the excellent brutal tempos of "Pumped Full of Lead". And what a great version for "Terrible Certainty" this album has (yes, I'm speaking of that old and good KREATOR song.

A fine piece of Death Metal!
