Well, um, so ... so let's start from the beginning. Original from Helsinki, Finland CHARMING TIMUR is a one-man project headed by Lauri Sante. The independent production of "Focused Rage" brings a very complex and abstract sound full of noises with a sometimes normal vocal and others well distorted in a way that is almost inaudible more like an interference in the middle of the music. During the experience it is common to get lost or think what the fuck is happening due to such diversity and originality between the songs, it goes from an electronic black metal to an AOR ballad in a matter of seconds for example. Sante's work runs so far from the standard that it is complicated to even use method of evaluation and detailing of music by music because in all the music what we find is a mess, which is sometimes pleasant and sometimes not. In addition we always find also a very large diversity of electronic elements much static. The work might be better if you had a little more whimsy in your recording, but I believe this is the intention of the author to resemble a bit with the electronic music of the eighties.
Some passages also stretch too much the same rhythm becoming a bit tiresome, as in "Against The Brainwashed" that takes the whole song practically in the same beat for example. "Not The Same" is perhaps one of the cleanest song of this work and quite pleasant also counting on a footprint very light and immersive. "A Bit Clingy" and "FUNINA" if you take the vocals have identical beginnings and as they are sequential and besides the rhythm is very similar is another failure of that work. On the other hand the somber tone "Blackouts" is another high point of the album, again a cleaner sound brought a better experience. All in all "Focused Rage" is a very interesting work although it contains a considerable number of negative points in my vision. For the listener who likes to try new things and especially who has a more abstract purpose, this work is highly recommended.
