Oregon's band TRIUMVIR FOUL brings their second album entitled "Spiritual Bloodshed" following the same style of its predecessor. Artists who prefer anonymity bring a very brutal and raw Death Metal very near of bands like AUTOPSY and DEATH. As for the production and mixing, on the album, many times is difficult to identify the vocal or even the instruments, and about the cover art, although it is simple is very somber and reflects well the sonority of the band.
Bringing themes like death, destruction, evil, and occultism, the band starts the journey with a dark intro that have about two minutes opening space for "Asphyxiation", track that starts with violence showing the power that the band has to pass the feelings of anguish to the listeners. Although it is very present the famous blast beats, the sound has little variation demonstrating some technique as well as a great bestial vocal.
"Serpentine Seed" is more rhythmic and brings black metal vocals on back vocal that fits very well on the track. "Entranced By Filth" begin with lot of speed and after half of it brings a very characteristic rhythm of the style in the decade of 80. The track "Spiritual Bloodshed" is my favorite of this work, it is impossible to hear this song without imagining in a mosh pit or banging. "Vrasubatlatian Rites" explores well the instrumental and sentimental part by making use of guitar distortions combined with cries of agony. The track also features an intro and ends with a very deep jamming sound
"Spiritual Bloodshed" is sure to be an album for extreme metal lovers, mostly inspired on old school Death Metal. Although his mix is quite primitive, the album is very pleasing to the ears.
