Lethal Shock - Evil Aggressor album cover

LETHAL SHOCK is based out of Chicago and has been around since 2008. The band went through the usual line-up changes before settling on their current avatar. The band recorded a demo in the year 2015 entitled "Evil Aggressor" comprising of two tracks "Endless Midnight" and "Fear (The Devil's Child)". In the year 2016, the band covered the track "Mean machine" by MOTORHEAD. The band plays straightforward Old school Thrash Metal infused with Punk and Death Metal influences. LETHAL SHOCK also uses the umlaut over its name that MOTORHEAD popularized all those years ago. The band considers MOTORHEAD, KREATOR, IRON MAIDEN, SLAYER and JUDAS PRIEST among others as their main influences.

"Sulfur Heart" is the first track of the album and is a track just under 4 minutes. In fact most of the songs on the album is under 4 minutes with the exception of 2 tracks. The track is a rapid, speedy affair filled with Old School riffs and a lead guitar solo that is just spectacular. The vocals for this progeny of a Punk and a Thrash Metal track reminds me of the band VENOM and their ferocious energy. This track is dripping with evil intentions and it is an invitation to the Devil. A hasty track with riffs that will make the listener raise the horns to the sky, it has everything that a Metal fan can ask for in a song. "Up The Voltage" starts off with a bass doodle before the drums kick in and is shored up by a dazzling lead solo. The track then jumps to the speed of light with frenzied drumming and grisly, gravely vocals. The chorus is memorable and has a head bang-able riff. The lead solo in this track is stunning and compliments the Speed Metal nature of the track. This is an intense track that has a definite old school feel to it and is about the electric chair. "Endless Midnight" has a riff in the beginning that feels like JUDAS PRIEST but  only much faster. The track is just over 3 minutes in run time and the band wastes no time at all. This is a tight track and the band gives no time for the listener to recover. The lead in this track is also a revelation and just like the other tracks before it, the lead is devilishly good and compliments the track beautifully. "Fear ( The Devil's Child)" clocking just over 3 minutes is another spry track with breakneck riffs and is ,well, about the devil's child. This wicked track gives no quarter to the listener and is teeming with killer hooks as well as a mercurial lead guitar solo." Iron Fisted Assault" is the stand out track of the album for me and it is just shy of 4 minutes in runtime. The chorus is backed by a chugging heavy riff that would be something Dimebag would be proud of. The lead solo is splendorous and midway into the song, there is a heavy riff followed by an intense guitar solo section that is dazzling and makes one wish it never would end.

Crikey! What an album! Nine tracks dripping with pure evil and malicious intent. The band wastes no time with frivolity and delivers Metal songs that is straight to the point and in your face. The band members have been around for a while and it shows in their musicianship. The production is right up there and the songs are well written and executed even better. Pummeling vocals, stunning lead guitar solos and a bass section that provides a solid foundation to the tracks and dovetails exquisitely with the drumming. Frenetic, killer riff after riff and berserk lead guitar solos complimented with tortured vocals make this album a must have for fans of Old School/Punk/Thrash Metal music.<
