Vancouver-based five-piece Metal and Hardcore band WITCH OF THE WASTE have released their new EP "Made of Teeth".

The album start off with a song that functions as an intro, called "That Door Cannot Be Opened". It begins a bit slow until the Death Metal drums set in. You don't really know much with this song, it's more of a mood setter. It's followed by "They Haunt Minds", which immediately jumps into a pit of chaos and destruction. It's really all over the place, with exploding riffs and manic drumming. What bothers me quite a lot is the vocalist. I get the feeling the singer is just constantly trying to scream at the top of his voice. I doubt he has even written lyrics, and if he did, it has been a waste of time.

"She Burst Into Snakes" is of the same caliber. I actually hadn't even noticed a new song was playing, it all sounds so much alike. The vocalist really started to bug me at this point, already. He doesn't even follow any melody or tune, it's just annoying, raw screaming. The song flows seamlessly over into "It Was Always 3 AM". At this point I could not wait for the album to be over.

They're all pretty short songs by the way. One minute, two minutes, one minute again. But I don't exactly mind. "Let's Say You Have An Ax..." is yet again nothing but chaotic screaming, heavy drumming and guitar riffs I seem to have already heard before, even on this very album. The song finishes slowly to go over into "I Bet You're Wondering What I'm Doing With This Here Gas Can", which could have been a pretty decent song if it wasn't for, yes I know, the vocals. I really wish this guy would shut up for a while, so I might try to enjoy the music at least. He's not making it at all easy for the rest of his band, who actually make some decent, however repetitive, music.

Can't wait to put on something else to wash this out of my ears.
