Poland has been famous for its Death Metal crafts. Subsequent craftspeople, SLAVES OF EVIL from forges of Dąbrowa Górnicza comes with their "Madness of Silence". It's nice to hear that Silesian scene still llives on. This 36 minutes long record is their first album, although they are active for quite some time (well, they were performing under another band name). Opus was shown to the world back in 24.11.2014.
The album hits your face like sledgehammer. Sound is raw and brutal. Another representatives of classic "F*** groove - endless blastbeats" school. Indeed, pretty classic. My constant thought during the listening was IMMOLATION. I'm not saying it sounds the same - it's definitly not. But it's hard to not agree that everything here I heard somewhere before. Boys follows the well known Death Metal path, and do not turn aside even for a moment. Songs are quite similar and follows some type of scheme. Nonetheless there is fine artistry. Density of riffs and aggressive drumming reveals polish school craftsmanship. We cannot deny neither their technical nor great composery skills or nice ideas. As I said, you will find here a lot of moments reminding other well known bands. But don't missunderstood me. It's just clearly hearable that they really like some bands. If I'd have to chose my favourite track, it would be the opening "Death Countenance", but other tracks also remained a part of my mind.
Album isn't somehow especially visionary, yet it's pleasing for Death Metal forged brains. The best term of it is simply solid. The verdict is equitable without a shadow of a doubt. I had good time listening to it, and most of Death Metal fans also should. Trio should keep on working, because good potential lies inside them. Great debut gentlemans. You'll find three of their songs on YouTube.
